Interesting. I always thought Pyrat XO was a spiced rum as opposed to a dark rum. Of course, also opposed to the thinking that it's a rum flavored orange liqueur 😉

I've had that a number of times and it is excellent for the price. I haven't seen it in Canada for a few years now. The last bottle I had was unopened and was the only thing that was broken during our move 3 years ago into our present home. I had a moment of silence for the loss.

Have you done the black barrel version yet? Within a dollar or so of anejo, and even better in my opinion. Very nice for a diabetic Cadillac.

Not yet! I usually just sip on Hornitos tequila reposado or mix it into a cocktail. I'll definitely try the black barrel version soon!
