Maybe someone can help me out. I'm not big on alcoholic drinks, but I always try to find a decent one.
I am NOT a drinker at all. 99.9% of the ones I tried are not very good. What is a good high quality BEGINNERs wine? Maybe a drink in general? Thanks!

Buccaneer Cabernet, get the .05 cent sale. Goes for about 20 a bottle. Get the 5 cent deal and get 2 for $20
Fun drink. Try absinthe. There's a little ritual to making it. Fun to make. Lotsa of history to the beverage itself. Last edited by jamesems; 02-12-2013 at 02:35 PM.. |

I don't know if it prevents one from getting sick. I do know I feel better when I drink.

My favourite wine? Whatever is open in front of me. Honestly though, some of my faves are: Our house red is an Italian Montepulciano D'Abruzzo Out house white is an Ontario Riesling/Gewurztraminer Big fan of off dry Rieslings Gewurztraminers Argentinian Malbecs Saint-Emilion's BDM's GSM mixes, Chat. 9dePape's Cali Cab Sauv's and Zin's Chianti's and Super Tuscans A meal without wine is like a day without sunshine. The French have it right. Last edited by MightyMouseTech; 10-18-2013 at 07:24 AM.. |

What a great thread! I can't believe I missed this until today!
For California Wines, I do like Lewelling Cabernet from Napa Valley. If you like Caymus Special Selection, this is a cheaper alternative and imo, it's better...I also like Shafer Hillside Select, Insignia, and Maybach Cabernets. (Hmm since the Maybach family had a relationship with Mercedes, does that mean this is frowned upon on this forum? haha). Silver Oak is overpriced and isn't worth the $ but they are fantastic at marketing. I'm also a big fan of Brunello. In fact, my visit to Montalcino was probably my most memorable trip ever. I'm hoping I can do European Delivery and travel to some wine regions. I'm loving Barolo right now. Had an Elio Grasso tonight but been trying to buy some older Baroli from 47, 58, 71 etc to cellar. Also a fan of German Riesling. In my opinion, it's probably one of the most reasonably priced wine regions that make fantastic wines that age really well. Cheers!

I tried a few but any Canadian iced wine is perfect.

I can recommend any Shiraz from the Barossa Valley, especially from Penfolds.
I live in a beautiful place called the Hunter Valley which is very well know for some great wines as well. |
