I had forgotten I ordered them, but received some neck fans. We were at Dodger stadium, in the sun, and someone else had them. Seemed to work great for them

My mother-in-law has one of these. I make fun of her each time, but she swears by them!

After confirming a large project, I bit the bullet and ordered a replacement to my Mid'15 and looking forward to comparing the two.

Thumbs up

I have had a RING Video Bell since they introduced it. I've had 2 versions and have been waiting on a great deal on the newest version. Low and behold, I was able to grab not only the RING Video 1080p Doorbell but also the Echo Show 5 Display for an absolute crazy low price of $65!!!! A savings of $120!

Serengeti Bormio sunglasses. My eyeglass place says they can put prescription lenses in just about any frame. I needed something like these to wrap around close to my eyes for when I'm cycling. The eyeglass place had mostly Maui Jim frames at $279 and up and all kinds of issues putting bifocals in them. So I got these for around $100. The lenses are covered by my insurance, so I'm ok with the total cost. I've been wearing Serengetis since the '80s. Great sunglasses. My every day pair is also Serengeti, with trifocals.

^ Nice. Trifocals, huh? I haven’t gotten there yet. Been wearing bifocals for a long time, though.

I wear bifocals most of the time. I rarely need my reading lens. But my every day sunglasses have fairly large lenses, so the trifocals work well. I have a pair of normal specs with trifocals, but I hardly ever wear them. Mostly I need distance and mid-range. These new cycling sunglasses will be just distance and mid-range bifocals.

Until I turned 40-ish, I had great vision at any distance and never needed glasses. But after 40, I started needing reading glasses and it just got worse from there.

Around 40 is where it starts for a lot of people. I’ve been wearing glasses since I was 15. Had cataract surgery in both eyes early on. With a lens for distance in my left eye and a lens for close up in my right. Mono vision. It doesn’t work for everyone but it does for me. It’s not perfect though, and I still need glasses.

I’m not going down without a fight. I’ll be 60 in December and my eye Dr writes a Rx for reading glasses every year which I never use. Occasionally for very small print I’ll borrow my wife’s readers but have no problem reading newspapers or books, just tiny print.

Without glasses I can see nothing clearly at any distance. My eye doc said because I was seriously farsighted that the focal point of my eyes is actually behind my head. (Eyes in the back of my head?) So nothing in front of my face will ever be in focus. Hence the need for trifocals, so I have at least 3 areas where I can focus. Near, middle, and far.

I have cataracts developing and she said I'll need surgery in the next few years. But right now my insurance won't spring for it, so I'm stuck waiting.

They can do a lot with cataract lenses these days. You'll probably see better than you ever did without glasses.

Is this the "You know you're old when" thread?

Not 60 yet but waaaayy past 40 and my vision is fantastic except for some fine print. It depends a lot on the colours involved. Black on white is ok but I really struggle with anything on a blue background. And I'd like to ask the idiot designer whatever made them think that white print on a light gray background was a good idea.
