Did you ever get dyno results to see if going from 3" to 2.5" impacted performance?

I am about to do the muffler delete. I am sourcing my own tips, and placing resonators where the mufflers were, vs replacing the stock X pipe. This is what the Soul Performance muffler delete does also. This way you can keep everything 3'' and put it back to stock if needed.

Little late to the party, but I was thinking of doing something similar to you Iceman427. How is your setup working for you?

Has anyone just put straight pipes in place of the resonators? I have a stock setup and want to get some more noise.

I'm going to do the setup similar to the OP but a few differences.. mine will be stock catted DP's, the MagnaFlow xpipe, cut out stock xpipe behind the resonators and make them straight pipes and add QTP cutouts. Can't do muffler delete because I like my neighbors and have a 1 year old. I can let you guys know how it works out and post vids if you guys want..

I got the idea from my ZL1 that when had aftermarket headers added, it was extremely loud and the MF R X pipe made a huge difference.

I will follow up with more videos but here are some comparisons.

In cabin noise is practically gone unless WOT and it's still very quiet and the noise is behind you rather than inside the cabin resonating. It sounds so much quieter than stock while cruising yet outside the car still sounds beastly. There is practically no drone compare do before. The noise now is much more deeper and refined compared to any other system I've heard. Hard to explain.

PN Magnaflow 11386 Stainless Steel 2.5" Oval Muffler - Fabrication had to be done to go 3" OEM piping to 2.5" and back out or use a 2.5 to 3" adapter. So far no performance issues.

MCarsFan drove my car yesterday and fell in love.

Bringing this thread back since after reading this sounds like a great idea ...

I found this part :

MagnaFlow Performance Mufflers 12469

Which is the same resonated X pipe as the OP except that in/out are also 3" instead of 2.5" , would this be a better fit ? Sound wise ?? Any comments /advice will be appreciated...

You'll want to stick with 3" in and out. Make sure you replace both the X pipe and resonators with this. I made the Initial mistake going 2.5" since that was all that was available and didn't know they didn't cut out my x pipes till later. This replaces both.

I'm sending you a PM
