Epic Motorsports Flash tune
Has anyone here purchased and installed this tune on their car yet? I'm leaning towards this tune and wanted to see how it's worked out for them.

After all of my research I went with Mike at BPM Sport. There are a lot of posts about his tunes for our platform indicating a comforting level of experience. Mike is also highly praised for his service levels. While its is possible to get a lot of power out of these cars, that doesn't mean you should. I find Mike's approach to be within a comfortable range to allow for more power without beating on your expensive hardware. Barry |

Thanks for your insight Barry. Upgrading the clutches will be inevitable and planning for it already along with the fancy DCT oil pan.
Currently I'm running AMS catted PDs, full Akra system and a Gruppe M intake. Still planning to add a few more engine bolt ons so a tune will be the last thing I'll add. |

Hey Jed,
My opinion pretty much mirrors Barry's. I haven't heard much about that specific tune. No matter which company you choose, I think the key to longevity is to get a custom tune, not a shelf tune. There are more considerations for keeping a stock turbo engine together than a N/A engine. You want a tuner that knows the engine platform. There have been a couple decent threads on here where real discussion of timing, cylinder pressures, etc. were brought up. In my case, I'd like to get a BM3 license so I have access on my laptop for datalogging, etc. but I will want a custom tune. I have a 6 speed car so I shouldn't have to worry about limiting torque, but I will want the tuner to limit it in certain parts of the rev range to give the rods a fighting chance. I'm also not looking for ultimate power levels as the car is a daily. What type of tune you get depends on what the car will be used for obviously. Good luck and let us know what route you take! |

Agreed w/ the others here; have a goal in mind. If you're planning on building the motor anyway at some point, hell...send it. If it's a daily and you want more power, then go a/ a tune/tuner w/ a proven track record. Halim of HCP on the DME platform is a wiz. I'm sure there are solid tuners on the BM3 platform as well, and as others mentioned, being able to data log and "street tune" is a major plus as even dyno tunes aren't quite "real world". Mike BPMSport has a great rep and it's well earned. That's another solid option and there's tons of info out there on him and his tune(s).

Anyone putting out a flat torque curve to mimic the NA V8 lines like the flash tablet was going to have? I'm not so big on all the torque coming on early and tapering off.
