S63 Catch Can Efficacy: Do you have air intake gunk?
Sup ladies and gents, quick question… are any of you running catch cans for the S63? If so, what are you catching, if anything, and how often are you checking it?
I’m a few years in with the M5 and still conceptualizing how to keep it healthy and on the road well into the electric car era. I think my low mileage 6speed example will surely be a collectible item in the distant future. That said I haven’t done ANY mods under the hood. I’ve never driven it over 5.5k rpm and I try to keep it as stock as possible. However, as I read and learn more, I’m concerned about unnecessary debris floating around. Has a catch can made a difference for you? Any pics of your can with gunk in it? |

From my understanding those oil catch cans are fitted on the high side. If you don't hit boost or even go over 5500 RPM there is practically no point to it. You need to let your engine loose time to time and go wide open throttle.

If you run WMI the water/meth solution will help maintain if not slowly clean the intake valves.
