Happy days !!

Yesterday I got the car back from a full repaint, which took 3 months ! to complete.

The story started back in October when my car was parked outside the office building at work, behind a bus stop.
Some guy had been told to clean said bus stop and used a pressure washer for the job including cleaning the ground around the bus stop, blasting my car with sand and grit.

Got 3/4 of the car repainted on the insurance, paid up to make it a full repaint.
Brought the car in on February 22nd and got it back May 28th.

Due to winter storage I have essentially not driven the car for 7 months....

But now she's back and looking as good as new

I was told to scrutinize the car over the weekend and report back if I found something.
So far I have nothing to say on the paint work, the car looks flawless, needs a quick buffing as you can see some very small finger scratches from assembly, these are hardy visible, but they annoy me, also need to buff up the gloss black trim on the doors as they are now looking a little dull.

Few minor assembly items have been found.
Panel gaps/panel adjustments are not 100%, need them to look at the hood and trunk lid. They are not flush with the other body panels.
Two of the doors also need minor adjustments to be perfect (soft close).
The roof "shark fin" is not flush with the roof, not sure if it is incorrectly fitted or missing a seal, but I can't see a seal in the parts catalogue.

I had an issue with the sun roof needing 4 attempts to close from tilt position, probably just a calibration to be done.

And weirdly enough, the outer seat bolster will not inflate on the drivers seat.

Taking it back tomorrow to have these things addressed.

I'll be sure to pick a better spot in the future if I bring the M5 to work, I got a BMW i3s (electric) back in November that I use as a primary daily driver.

Imola is the best colour in my opinion!!

I know that this colour was special order, so I gave up hope finding one for sale.

There are 6 Imola red in the north-American market, I've seen at lest one for sale in Canada.

Mine is one of 3 "clones" by a large German dealer who spec'ed the cars, it was brought to Norway in 2017 and is the only one in the country.

The launch vehicle of the F90 LCI was Imola red, so BMW know this is a great color.

I know I've said it before, but I love the spec Noggie. Exterior colour plus the contrast stitching on the inside that ties in with the exterior colour is awesome.
