I'd prefer the Merc GTR AMG you were mentioning before. It's more beefier than the McLaren which looks just a bit fragile to me for UK roads and leave the wallet much happier.

600lt is one of my fave cars, theres a guy near me in essex with one and when i see him on the road i keep trying it on but he never wants to play!
£3k a month, not sure thats a bargain tho... I wonder how i would get on against it in the M5... might be time for a stage 1 tune!

I think you would be disappointed with a Merc AMG GT/GTR compared to an out and out race machine like the Mclaren. The Merc may out power it, but i just cannot imagine it being such a thrill to drive. I have actually driven an AMG GTR, it was last year and i loved it but it didn't feel "fun", it sounded epic and was very fast of course. Although that said, for a fun back road blast i'd pick up my i30N keys over the M5s all day(shhh). The M5 is of course much faster and a nicer place to be but speed doesn't always equal fun!

Also as im getting older i find it hard to argue with you, comfort does need to be top of the list. Stick with the M5, just as quick as the GTR in most scenarios or look at an F90 M5.

I was behind one once (on my bike again! and the rear of it was jumping up and down over mild humps like a citroen with faulty hydraulic suspension as if the shock absorbers were faulty For sure I'll be keeping my F10 for quite a while yet, wouldn't want any other now and won't be rushing anytime soon into an F90. |

Likewise i love my F10, im only 6months into owning it but i love it... The pace after 50mph is unreal. Can't wait to get my new rubber on and a stage 1 remap.
I imagine the Mclaren was just very firmly damped so was bumping around alot.

This was more than just firm suspension,it was going up and down as if there was no suspension at all, definitely a fault with something broken on it. Like the GTR I saw it was orange but glossy on this one.

I had a 520D for 6 weeks recently and have to say the interior really grew on me, the whole experience was very enjoyable.
When I got back in the F10 M5 the whole interior and exterior did seem very dated, it also seemed a lot smaller (I know it is smaller). I would switch to an F90 Competition in a heart beat but given what I would get for mine finding another £25-£30K is just too much especially given how the F90 will continue to depreciate hard. The thought of 4WD is massively appealing but the cost to switch is just not worth it for me. |

I'm the other way round, the interior of the F90 I test drove looked a tad space age for me and those 'Star Wars' seats were not as comfy as on my F10 though because the comfort seats could be thicker.

Im not sold on the exterior of the F90... The F10 looks great to me.
4wd tho... I wish i had it, for the first time ever. Ive had 300-400bhp cars before and FWD but all this power at the rear is pretty lively and frustrating to put down at times. 4wd would solve all my woes lol
