Yes, you still use your factory heat shield,
I don't have any pics of the install, it's a pretty straight forward install.

Here is what it sounds like with stock mufflers, with the flapper mod.

They are even cheaper on Amazon!!

Since these are single walled compared to the double walled oem downpipes, do you hear any wastegate rattle after the new downpipes?

I do hear some wastegate rattle noise. It's very tolerable. I also expected to hear some rattle.

Planning on getting these DP's , they seem to fit well ... currently with gutted DP's , feel like I need the aftermarket ones ... heard air flows better on these vs oem gutted ... exhaust sound didn't change much when I had them gutted ... that's why I am considering these ones , attractive price ... isn't this : you get what you pay for ... ??

Thanks for your feedback

Not really anymore, there are so many clones of the same downpipes now. once its hot and new in the market its recovery of R&D. now its been out for some time and Chinese manufacturers copy it with ease. no need to continue to pay the M tax for $70 worth of pipe, if that.

So far the results with these are good. I have a set of these myself and they fit with no problem.

Sounds good ! Will give this a try ... I am going to wrap them as well ... as Troy Jeup recommends just like the coolant lines...

What is a reasonable labor cost to swap DP's by a good reputable shop ?

Can't do it myself... don't have the tools nor the experience...

I will assume a tune is needed for this mod not to throw any errors?

Yep, tune is needed; otherwise you'll get a CEL for the primary O2 sensor.

I installed these on my M6 recently. My shop said they were a bitch to install but they managed. He said you just need patience and adjust constantly. Usually takes about 2 hours for install on these cars for his shop, these took closer to 3.5.

I didn't have them coated or wrapped. OEM heat shields are in place and putting infrared on the heat shield before and after, there's less heat than with the cats. But do whatever you feel is necessary and reducing any amount of heat is worth it. I wasn't spending any extra money on these as I'm unsure if longevity

Do the gutted DP not sound as good? I have been leaning towards gutted DP to try and eliminate WG rattle.
If you decide to sell your gutted ones let me know.
