Good choice keeping to Bm, in my circle Volvo's are regarded as an old man's car (sorry schrickM5 but that's how it is).
Volvo's did make sports cars at one time,a hatchback which were heavily advertised but seem to have had sudden death.

Might as well buy a cheap small van if you lug a load of stuff...then get back to the comfort and fun of your M.
I found an old 80's ad for a Volvo estate, the dealer was letting a blindfolded old man touch up the car and the end comment from him was 'Yes! its a Volvo!!'

Yep, I think I had that impression of Volvo's before I left the UK.
Here its the Merc's that are classed as old mans cars, Volvo's are the national pride and joy....about 22% of cars on the roads are Volvos.
