Power and Torque Meters on iDrive display

I am working with a vendor in Europe to code my M5 so that the power and torque meters are working (also called the sports display).

This is what I have so far - clearly not calibrated correctly.

I will let you know how it goes. I think it will be a pretty cool feature if we can make it work.

Can you also ask if they can code removal of the 250kph limiter too?

I don't understand - Why would BMW develop this feature, and then lock it out? Or is this information a BMW tech would see on his scope, and the car is being coded to redirect this info to the idrive screen?

Thanks

Trying to get it to work on the M5 is proving to be a bit harder.

Yeah I suspected that. We haven't even been able to get it working on the 550i yet. Only on 528i and 535i.

That's a shame. Sadly I don't have any programing experience so I am relying on a European vendor, who is doing a great job so far, but I am the guinea pig. We'll see how it goes ....

I have a laptop running E-Sys and a cable which I have been using to program the F10 550i. Once I receive my M5 I will be able to push the coding effort. I think I may take the coding kit with me to Germany.

the fact the m5 dosent operate outwardly like a playstation (yes, Im talking to you GTR) is something i especially like about the car.

then again, boy racers will be boy racers.... was one some time ago, but not anymore. Id be willing to bet most M5 owners would not be interested....
