Brake pedal on DCT M5.
There is just one big gripe I have about the F10 and that is the brake pedal is far too close to the gas pedal not allowing progressive left foot braking.Man its a xxx pain for me, my previous Merc had a great anchor pedal in a more convenient placing.
Has anyone done a mod to extend the pedal like a bolt on steel extended metal platform? |

M5 F10 still is King.

Looking at it more in my case a straight down pedal would be the answer and I am finding out if a brake pedal from one of the other model F10's will fit exactly in to operate the master cylinder correctly,(but can only think this will be a trial and error procedure seing the different part numbers) this would bring the brake pedal more in the middle between the foot rest and the gas pedal then fitting your wider pedal add on would ideally bring it in line with my left foot and put me in seventh heaven. |

No,found out I need a much wider pedal platform to bolt on,unlike US brake pedal which has quite a bend in it towards the gas pedal the UK one is straight down! I have ordered something from overseas and will come back when I receive and install it.

Sanity restored.
They arrived and here it is installed,I ordered two types and glad I did as one was quite bendy so used the other one with more solid platform and I made a reinforcing metal plate behind. After quite a bit of measuring and careful hole drilling the top alloy plate hides the small bolts that were finally tightened to hold it firmly in place. Now left foot braking is more of a pleasure.

Had to take pedal off temporarily and installed some tough thin rubber strips at contact point to give the metal surfaces a ''key''.Just something I should have done the first time.
