This reminds me of the early E46 M3 days.

Nope. The only call I got was from the service manager about this issue. Am I missing something or was BMW NA, in New Jersey, supposed to call me as well?

Had mined towed away today... dealer told me 3 weeks for the part, guess ill just have to deal with it. Got a 328 Convertible loaner, the vert is pretty sick. I guess if something is positive this just gives me more time to order mods. Hopefully well have more information from bmw soon. I hope they make this right.

That is a pretty penny and offering an extended warranty would mitigate the big price hit now with paying the devil later if needed. I think they may offer options for folks. Like leased owners get a month deducted from their contract end. Maybe a M school day (or 2day) and a gas card for those vs warranty extension option for those who bought.

I'm quite sure BMW AG, NA and your dealer will be delighted you're foregoing your delivery spot and allow someone else an opportunity to pay MSRP for "your" unwanted M5... and you can buy what you want on your terms. Good Luck.

They could keep their 3 and I'll drive my Yukon. If they gave me a conv 6 or a 7 series than compensation could be less.

It's good customer service to take care of your customers. I have mulitiple commercial properties and if the property is under renovation and the tenant is not able to operate their business, I waive the rent for that period of time. The lessee is happy, I'm happy.

It's simple, I've leased a product from BMW and I can't use it because they have given a cease and desist order. Under their orders I should receive compensation, that's good customer service.

The call I got was from some lady at BMWNA, dealer has not called me

Maybe it was one or the other was responsible for the end user contact....

When the oil pump is changed, do they have to change the oil too? Does anyone know if the break-in oil is a different oil than what is used after break-in?

As I have leased my M5 through BMW Financial, do they expect me to make my payment this month? I've only had the car for 5 days and now I can't drive it but they want a payment? I was told by BMW Manufacturing to NOT drive the M5 for a minimum of 3 weeks. Do I have to make my payment?

I say yes make the payment, and then seek reimbursement post repair. Else expect to spend time fighting with BMW about late fees.

BTW - can you post or PM some pics of Silverstone? I'm waiting on mine (now delayed more) and have had a hard time finding good shots.

Cheers!

Yes unless you want to get hit with a negative mark on your credit report. You cannot stop making payments due to a manufacturer recall or break/fix issue. Should you have any concerns research the lemon law in your state, provided that you bought the car in your state.

I sent an email to BMWNA asking the same question and my payment is scheduled to draw Oct 7th. I've only had the car 2 weeks.

Yes, as others have said you should make the payment. Email BMW Customer Relations (email address provided by cmhsam in your other thread) and let them know (politely of course) you would expect them to make restitution for the time your car is out of service. I would make sure your dealer logs the date you returned the car to the for the recall work.

I also called BMW Financial Services today and asked them to note on my account that I called about this issue and would expect BMW AG to provide compensation on my lease. For now though I want everyone down to the janitor at the plant doing everything they can to get the replacement pumps out ASAP.

My Service rep at my dealer just called me and said he just spoke to BMWNA and to expect a 3 week wait. He also said they were going to take care of my next month payment. I have not heard that myself from BMWNA. Just thought I'd pass it on.
