Oil on spark plugs

I was just doing regular maintenance on my S63 engine and found oil on spark plugs 6 and 7.
Number 6 I clean it up a bit but was identical to 7.

6 and 7 were easy to unscrew. I think that the oil is coming from the top of the engine. Because there is no misfire, no bleu smoke and no oil consumption.

Car is a 2015 with 51 000 miles.

I think this can be related to valve cover gasket.

Anybody has experience this?

Thanks

I did plugs a month ago and had the same experience on a few plugs (think it was 6 and 3 for me). Tips all looked great* and no smoke. Almost positive it's seeping through the valve cover gasket and getting on the threads as one pulls out the plug. Too bad replacing the valve cover gaskets on this car looks like such a PITA.

*I can't tell if it's just the picture, but your tips looks (too) dark to me. I am definitely not an expert, though.

Thanks, Yea for the tips color , it seems the car is running a little rich which in NO problemo.

I'm slowly advancing on taking out the valve cover gasket... don't know if I will be able to do it by myself...
keep you all posted.

Good luck! My memory from newtis is it requires removing the turbos, downpipes, HPFPs, and I think even the charge coolers. The gift of a hot V setup?

Just had the same issue ! I changed my crankcase hoses in hopes that was the issue. Which I believe fail far more than we do the valve cover gaskets. It is a much less invasive job, less parts and is just good. I went this route and will check the plugs again in 1k miles and see.

Update this thread on which route you're going on this.

Thanks good luck.

Your plugs being that black point to a vacuum leak, you should check for one.

make sure this gasket is in good working order....it goes where the black intake box connects to the turbo compressor inlet.

I have experienced it before on 1 & 2. It was fouled plugs from oil due to head gaskets surrounding the plugs.
