Spider Cracks On Headlamp Lens

Hey guys, the other day I finally got around to doing a quick two step polish and wax and noticed the driver side headlamp has what looks like spider cracks on the lens surface. They're not very deep. Also they're only in the corner of the light.
I tried to polish them out but it didn't do much.
Any ideas what could have caused this?
Any way to fix it other than the 3M headlight kit?

Thanks

I assume you're being facetious. It works just fine and is barely noticeable.
It's not under warranty any longer, so I'll just live with it.

i mean the lens itself is done, it's cracked and is unrepairable.

So, the light needs to be replaced.

Gotcha. It seems like they're just surface cracks. I'll see if I can sand, polish, and buff them out with the 3M kit.

Isn't there an aftermarket company making the outer headlight covers?
I know that it's available for m3s & m4s

OEM replacement covers are available but you will need a professional to remove the old ones and install the new ones due to the permaseal. I'll be replacing mine shortly (I've done a ton of permaseal BMW headlights). I'll let you know how it goes.

Lacquer thinner or Methyl Ethyl Ketone will do that to the lense if they come in contact with it. Any chance the car was in a bodyshop recently? The front bumper paint looks very clean....

azndrunk74 Have a link on those replacement lenses?

Ahhhh interesting. The car was wrapped just prior to me purchasing it.
Maybe it was from their prep work.
