Yeah, love my S4. Had to order it to get the manual and options. Had it almost seven years and only 40k miles (one of the few people in Los Angeles who doesn't have a long commute, thankfully!)

Just need a little more space and a couple hundred more hp

Really appreciate the offer though am going to pass. Interior was just too far from what I was looking for. As everyone has noted, I know it'll take time but am hoping there's the right car out there for me. Appreciate all the insight and help!

I've got three pedals in my '15 and my smile continues to grow.
Don't settle until you find one

If you haven't had the opportunity to drive a MT let me know. I'm a little north of you in Thousand Oaks/Westlake and the offer stands.

Would love to hear where/how you sourced it? Found one other (couple weeks back) but was also in a color combo I wasn't interested in. Think it was white but forgot to post link here at the time.

It popped up for me on my cargurus search criteria. I was looking for a manual under 15k miles. A MC blue with 11.5k miles and CPO from a NY dealership became available 2 weeks ago and I purchased it. Probably one of the last manuals produced with mfr date 6/16. No mods except an escort 9500ci installed.

It arrived here in California yesterday. Unfortunately it failed the smog check, so I have to figure out how to correct that. Also, some sort of lysol smell inside which is unpleasant. I was hoping it would still have the new car smell like my other 2016 vehicle. I'm airing it out now and hope there is no other odor the lysol is hiding. Of course this is a risk of buying a car sight unseen.

Here are some pictures before it was loaded onto transport.

i would definitely get it over to a reputable detailer ASAP to figure out if there was something that had rotted in the interior (old meat that's been in a hot car comes to mind). They should have an ozone machine that will remove a lot of the bacterial smells and clear it out.

Otherwise, beautiful combo!

Thanks! My first priority is to get it registered and pass the smog check. I did order an ozone machine and it should arrive later this week. It's pretty clean inside otherwise. The steering wheel and shifter did look pretty beat up and very shiny like an older vehicle. Surprisingly after wiping it down with some leather cleaner, it looks new again with that matte appearance.

That is strange that coming from NY without any exhaust mods that it would not pass the SMOG test. The vehicle comes 50 state compliant.

The OBD for some reason was reset before I took possession. I ended up having to drive it around for an hour to get it ready and pass.

Ahhhh, beautiful! Very jealous, the car looks great. Sorry to hear about the smell and hope the smog isn't a big deal.

Impressed with the limited mod and the low low mileage. Enjoy!

My search continues...

Same thing happened to me when I bought my M5 in PA and had it shipped to AZ. The time it spent sitting on the dealer's lot after I bought it and then on the transporter for some reason caused all the sensors to go numb, so to speak. So I did the same thing you did, drove it for a bit, and then it passed with flying colors.

The electrical system on these cars is very sensitive to just sitting around. That's the extent of my technical knowledge on the subject.

Not surprised. NYS laws do not mandate full disclosure of all known issues or work done on the car. Hence the reason most used car dealers steer clear of used cars from NY auctions. Not a bad thing - just more friendly to sellers than buyers (similar to IL and few others). WI and NJ (though corrupt) mandate all work done by a dealer before the sale.

Run it around and let it drive for few days before you test it again. If it fails again take it to a authorized shop for a check-up. No reason to be afraid - you have a beautiful car.

Clearing the fault codes or battery going flat will cause a modern car to fail smog until all the self tests have been completed during you driving around. Can be a few days depending on car and driving.

Any simple generic obdii reader can show you this type of info.

Green is no faults, ready for smog test.
Yellow is self tests not complete, or fault code pending, with flashing annunciators for the tests still pending (usually O2)
Red is fault code stored and you can read the codes out

Will add this new listing to the mix. Holding firm with my desire for a dark exterior AND interior. Good looking car but the search continues.

Interestingly, CarMax has two 6spd 2013 white M5's currently for sale.

Good luck on the search. IMO, there is a moderate chance that the manual will depreciate less or perhaps increase in value considering it is the last manual made in the world for the m5. I had a 2000 blue M roadster I bought in 2003 that I sold for more than my original purchase price a decade later.

Bought my 2016 6MT Competition in March of this year. Exhaustive searching had me almost buying a color combo I didn’t want because there are just so few MT cars out there. Then my car popped on market and I had it inspected the next day and purchased in 2 days. Have to move fast when you find what you want.

I think there were only like 150 F10 M5s with manual transmissions made in North America.

Inspiration to hear as I continue and have had limited success. A couple darker (exterior) colors but red interior and preference is dark interior as well. Tried not to be discouraged but definitely hard to find and I get concerned that all of those coming off lease (MY'16) have now found new homes.
