ASD(Bimmercode vs Bimmerlink)

Hi,

I noticed that both programs have the ASD function

How does the Bimmercode ASD function differ from the Bimmerlink ASD function?

Have reached out to the developers but no reply

Thank you

Got a response from the program developers....
BimmerCode uses coding to activate/deactivate it and BimmerLink a diagnostic function

Am still confused though as to when they said Bimmerlink is only a diagnostic function. Does it activate/deactivate ASD or not? Reached out again

Okay, I think below pretty much sums up the difference......

With Bimmerlink your settings are not saved, so ASD off and flap operation reverts to oem setting when you turn car off (you'll need to re-connect via OBD next time you start and renew your settings)

With Bimmercode your settings are saved (though you can't change exhaust flap operation via bimmercode)

Slightly OT - does disabling the ASD using BimmerCode cause any issues to your ECU Tune?

I was advised against coding ASD off by a tuner as it may impact the existing Engine, Suspension or Transmission tune on the car.

Just wanted to ask as I have been holding back. After all it does make changes to the stored ECU values.
