Power Comparison Pure S1 vs. S2 vs. X

Folks - given the evolution of this platform and the various things I have tried, figured it may help make a comparison on upgraded turbo systems.

The supporting mods are relatively the same (although for the Pure X... it was on stock exhaust), but intakes, downpipes, race-gas/methanol are baseline for all the combinations.

I would state that the Pure S1 and S2 plots are pretty much maxing out the turbos. The Pure X has some ways to go (both the turbo and supporting mods) and will update as I get more testing done.

Hope this can be useful in making turbo decisions.

Thanks for posting up this comparison! Based on your experience if one wanted to stay at modest levels of craziness, so no x lol, which one would be best? I'm talking like a stage 2 fbo situation with the intent of just adding some turbos so nothing is maxed out. A nice efficient and moderately powerful setup. Not the best at explaining this here so apologies in advance.

Pure S2 set to about 740-750whp would get amazingly flat curve on both torque and horsepower to redline!

You always have valuable data!

I wondered about the difference between FBO S63 vs. Built s63 w/bigger turbos. The low end torque is surprisingly strong on the S1 (quicker spool). I suppose in order to really enjoy your build, you have to play with it above 3.5-4k where the magic starts to happen.

Other than freeway cruising in 7th, easy to get it to 3.5K and be in the power band. Better than other options where you don’t see much boost until 5K+

can you change it to 3 colors with dashed and solid lines. Hard to tell which ones which because of the thickness and the rainbow being on the screen.

You are the man. I have been going back and forth on which way to go on the turbo side. Now I know.

Loving this, im going s2 and still will but the s1 to s2 difference is surprisingly small. The x follows its own lines completely though, monster

Do you know what sort of boost these numbers were achieved at for the hybrids? 30psi? And i assume race fuel, meth and map 6?

Lol... yes I should know the boost levels since they are from my cars

S1: 30psi peak... tapers to 25psi
S2: 28psi peak... tapers to 26psi
X: 34psi peak... tapers to 33psi

Limited testing obviously on the X, but the S1 and S2 were pretty much at the max for the turbos.

Yes, race-fuel, 100% meth and map 6, although the Map 8 with 75 additive should produce the same result.

The biggest benefit of the S2 is that it holds way more power to redline (nearly 100whp) and can achieve peak hp/torque at a slightly lower boost level.

On the X... sky's the limit depending on what config is chosen. Can go for more peak power with a different turbine side but may affect the low/mid-range.
Depends what you are trying to achieve... peak dyno #'s or the ability to really get moving on asphalt.

Whats the deal with s2 not making 30psi? I understand it makes more power at less boost but i still thought it would make 30, is it due to the hot side snail being too restrictive?

It will make 30psi... just never held it for me upto redline. Other cars may have had different results. I'd say even without 30psi, my frozen gray M5 made 860whp. Best to ask Pure directly.
