I don't understand those of you who hate SSII. It looks killer on E92, M5 and these new M cars. I actually think it looks stunning on an M4. I was playing around at a "un4gettable" 435 test drive event this wknd and was spec'ing out an M4 with the sales guy in SSII. He said "it's our most ordered M color here in Atlanta". So... All personal preference but I don't think you can say SSII is a bad color. May not be the best but DEFINITELY not the worst for the lines of the new M3/M4.

The E92 M3 GTS was initially offered to BMW North America at the same time as the 1er M Coupe but they rejected on the grounds that no one would buy such a car without its luxuries. Something BMW still comes up against in the US Market today.
In which federalisation cost is not viable if only to sell only a few units.

I have no idea if the M4 GTS will come to the USA or remain Europe and Asia only, I do know that a strategy exists for the car of which all details and schematics are not fully known just rumours still waiting to be confirmed along with the next M5 , M6 , returning to an all new V10 , The X1 M with 330PS and and the addition of a G31 M5 Touring due to strong sales of the Audi RS6 Avant in Continental Europe.
So I just read that there may be:

- an M4 GTS
- a smaller M car (X1M)
- a new V10 engine for the M5 and M6
- and M5 Touring

This is all brilliant and welcome news, but given upsizedbody-downsizedengine-turbo-wrongwheeldrive philosophy I have to ask has someone at BMW HQ had a funny turn?!

Next you'll be telling us they are working on an M8 McLaren competitor

It's the most exciting BMW news in the last 10 years hidden in this thread...if it's a NA unit. Hopefully it's a NA engine, either freestanding or a LaFerrari type of hybrid power unit. Please let this be true. If it's an FI V10 it's just meh, waste of money and weight savings.

I think an SC'd V10 might be pretty badass, personally

Wow that's great news. About time in my opinion.

On a separate note, can you comment on when the competition pack will be available for the F80 M3?

I can somewhat understand the blue decision but what's wrong with a true yellow. Aftera ll of these years, do we really need another puke yellow? I dont think phoenix yellow sold very well back in the day. Why not a Dakar yellow? I like the unique color idea but have a couple standard like red and a normal yellow before going this route...I guess you can't please everyone though.

BMW's answer to the GT3 is the actual BMW Z4 GT3 race car. and its kicking ass! now if only they would build a street version of the damn thing!

There is a used Z4 GT3 I have been eyeing. Wife would probably try to put me in the mental hospital!

I'm not a fan of Phoenix Yellow at all, but absolutely love Austin Yellow. Looks so much better in real life and is more of a yellow than gold. Stunning color IMO.

I suppose you could say a M4 CSL = GT3RS

The reality of course, is that the M cars are a very successful compromise by design. Too much luxury, tech (aka weight) to be considered true track contenders.

I do wish the M division would promote the M2 as a stripped, light weight & trackable street car...sub 3000lbs
do you even track bro?
