Help finding front and front fender carbon grilles
I cannot seem to find a company that supplies a carbon front grille set with the M5 logo and the front fender grille in carbon also with M5 logo.
F10 LCI Nighthawk. Anyone able to point me in the right direction please |

Welcome to the group edylcreyob, and good to see another Melbourne based F10 M5 owner here.
Any pics of your car? I assume you picked up the one that was on Carsales recently (seller (who popped up here last year when he was buying it) is in Southbank or Port Melbourne maybe?). Quote:

Yes I owned the car prior to that poster (Luke), I had sellers remorse after trading it in to a Sydney dealer and bought it back when I saw it on car sales recently.
Luke had spent a lot of money with Southern BM doing power mods full Akropovic ti exhaust, catless down pipes, Eventuri carbon air intakes, stage 2 chipping etc etc which I must say make the car very exciting to drive now and it has way more power than my driving ability can handle. I have added a rear diffuser in carbon and looking to match up some of the front too as I think I can only really improve it cosmetically now. Car still looks pretty much the same except for most of the chrome has been blacked out now with some tacky paint jobs and the wheels look a bit worse for wear but will fix that too. If I can't find carbon front and side grilles I will just do gloss black ones I think Any clues for getting a Car Play system in the car? |

Thanks Chris
Yes I agree I haven't seen front grilles with the logo either...pity. I assume you can buy the logo for the side grilles or use the one that is on my originals Cheers |

Interesting back story on the car then Clyde! I recall seeing it advertised by Scuderia Grazziano 12 months or so ago and was a little surprised to see it readvertised by the new owner in the last few months.
Sounds like he spent some money on it with some quality mods. Good outcome for you! In terms of the external trim pieces, if you're set on the carbon look it might just be easiest to wrap them. What's the issue with the wheels out of interest? Kerbing? CarPlay can be added with an aftermarket box that integrates fairly well into the NBT iDrive system in your car. |

He drove it had the mods done then just parked it in February.
Yes kerbing unfortunately, not too bad though. Yes wrapping may be the best option and cheapest too. Who in Melbourne can do the car play upgrade for the car if you know. Quote:

I've got a near new original 20" rear wheel (in the original matte black finish) with a Pilot Super Sport 295/30/20 fitted to it if you are interested. I'd be prepared to let it go for similar money to what it would cost to get one of yours repaired. Let me know if you have any interest.
I haven't done it to mine, but have put one in a mate's F80 M3 (same basic process as fitting to the F10 M5). Not overly difficult - if I was going to put one in mine I'd just be doing it myself personally. |

Alistair contact me on 0419 595813 as may be interested to have as a spare wheel if your selling it that cheap!!
It's the 2 fronts that need the fixing. I also have a M3 Comp 2016 but somehow car play was available through Connected Drive when I have always understood it wasn't until 2018. I am a dunce when it comes to electronics would need help with car play install for sure more used to working on early porsches. |

RW Carbon side grilles and my new front carbon grilles arrived late last week and very happy with both for my M5 Nighthawk.
They will get fitted next week when car is in the panel shop fixing some front and rear bumper issues. I met Alister on the weekend and he was kind enough to sell me a great condition 20" rear wheel for my car at a great price The previous owner had blacked out any chrome on the car but a poor paint job was done on the door handle strips (painted on the car) so I picked all the paint off again think I like that one bit of chrome. I do have a spare set blacked out supplied by the previous owner so can always fit those if I decide against the chrome down the track |
