Anyone with high miles Pure Turbo setup?
Forum members...
There is almost no data on if these Pure turbos last or work well after high mileage. I know a bunch of people have upgraded their setups with Pure, I see people posting about fears of bending rods (i guess its happened), but in all reality, how safe is running a Stg 2 turbo (bigger compressor wheel, boost etc)? Are these killing motors after 10k miles? Does anyone know anyone with a solid setup that has a reliable high-mileage car? I would deeply appreciate it, as only forum members keep vendors honest when it comes to these things.. Thanks again folks.. |

For me personally (I'm sure some would have a differing opinion) uprated turbos are kind of an icing on the cake kind of thing, to be done after everything else. You will need at least uprated clutches, and meth (to provide the additional fuelling required for the additional boost). And then it would be very very risky without at least forged rods in my opinion.

That answer is probably a hard no.
Just look at old post of builds with Pure Turbos. Most of those members are out of the F10 M5 game. I would say the longevity of a build would depend on the tune and boost. You can run aftermarket turbos and keep the boost at stock or near stock numbers. This would most likely provide the safest amount of power without sacrificing too much on the internals. However, there will be some risks and usually those who upgrade their turbos do so for one reason alone (more power). I’ve heard upgrading to stage 1 turbos and adding 1-2 psi of boost over stock is a game changer. |
