Ethanol is also very corrosive and burns quickly v petrol so its not great to have it added, I like Esso Supreme with a shot of Millers.

Esso is also 2 miles away whereas the others are 15

When BP came out with their Ultimate uld it was 102 RON in 2006. Now reduced to just 97,shows the greenies have taken over at British Poo fuel.

Didn't they make 2 ultimates?

The 97ron and a higher one which was 102, garage near me used to sell the 102. Not sure if it still does.

Had an old car mapped to run on Vpower and i put £20 worth of ultimate 97 in it once, it drove horrendously at part throttle. Never tried the 102ron

Redex is cheap in Lidl at the minute, 4.99 for two diesel or petrol iirc, I might give it a try. Weird thing for Lidl to sell.

Good price that is, I just filled up last week with vpower at £1.18 and thought that was cheap, especially compared to £1.46 the previous time

I started with V power but it sucks. Momentum is much better and it feels better too, in terms of consumption and throttle response

^ V power is not the best for my M despite the fancy yellow flags and signs at the fuel stations stating it's the best for your engine since sliced bread but I think there are too many detergents in it that sap performance and don't give that much of a clean burn, you are better off adding your own injector cleaner/UCL from time to time with Momentum99.

Texaco is few and far between now and their premium is only 97RON and no good for the M5 as well as BP also who did a 102RON called Ultimate at one time but shot themselves in the foot by going down to 97 still calling it ultimate, the other supermarket fuels are also 97 so not worth bothering with.
Esso is now 99 but have only used it once when I was stuck for fuel.

Found out more about Costco and Total fuel which interested me, their fuel stations are very few in the UK and again their premium petrol is just 97 RON and Costco at Thurrock does not even take cash I read, what a shambles there.
Total are frankly a total loss, they changed their instantly recognisable orange name board to a snowflake light blue saying 'totalenergies' and there's one on the way to London in Norbury which didn't even have super ULD on sale when I enquired there a while ago with the attendant appearing to be drunk..it wanted money in advance before you received any fuel!
Some petrol stations give out £80 parking tickets if your stay is more than 15 minutes, I'll give the name of one later.

As it's important what we put in our car tanks say what your own experience is when looking for a place to fill up and I'll look up some more obscure fuel companies in the meantime.

I don't understand why did BMW produce a car that works well with specific quality fuel e.g 99 RON when this type of fuel has become scarce lately.

How do you compensate for lower quality fuel e.g 97 RON? do you use additives in the tank to improve combustion?

i am getting annoyed of chasing 99 fuels as in my area only Tesco can provide decent quality but the price is again steep.

i know people would say - why did you buy an M5, if you are conscious of the gas prices. but this is a matter of daily convenience for me, not a luxury...

Hold that train!
Texaco now sells a new petrol called Supreme 99 Performance+ to run alongside it's normal Supreme 97 though it's only available in the North and North West.
