Hey all , my 2013 w/42k miles
Was going thru 2nd gear and around 5k rpms I felt the car stutter, wasn't sure I really felt it. So I went thru gear again and it stuttered like the the gas was shut off. Got the message on screen with transmission fault code and I limped home, actually sputtered home like only 2 spark plugs were working(that's how it sounded). I sat in my driveway for a minute and the code went away and engine went back to normal? 20 min later I had to pick up my daughter and I tested it again and it sputtered for a second and I let off the gas. No code that time but again I didn't push it. But now in sport mode it is staying in 2nd gear like I'm about to race someone doin 40mph and after a few seconds it will shift normally?
When trans throws a code does it really retard the engine power that much? Anyone have similar issue?

And after a nice 40 min aggressive drive car is normal? Shifting better and at this point I'm confused ?

Sounds more like a misfire. By transmission code do you mean it says drivetrain malfunction? Put a scanner on it.

Yeah drive train malfunction and I limped home as it sounded like it was running on 2 cylinders

And fuel pumps are covered for 10 yrs 120k miles now I beleive

Drivetrain isn't particular to the transmission, could be engine code as well I believe. Drivetrain malfunction does come up with fuel pump failures. GL buddy!

Had this happen to me on/off for a couple months. It was my in-tank low pressure fuel pump slowing dying and causing misfires. Had it replaced along with the EKPS module that controls fuel pump and everything was fine afterwards. Happened at about 40k miles on my 2014.

Really? That's interesting. Car was fine again today, I felt one single stutter in 3rd on highway but it kept going and nothing else.
Well I have easy care warranty, so when it get too frequent I'll bring it in. BMW dealer said they were backed up thru Tuesday anyway. I just don't want to see a Porsche that wants to play and my car stutters!
How much was your total cost to repair?
Also did your drivetrain malfunction warning come on like mine?

I read the error codes and it says multiple misfires. Photo attached. It couldn't be from a bad tank of gas could it?
Anyone able to shed some light on what some of the detailed codes are?

Brought car into dealer, kept misfiring and limping. Tech said it sounds like fuel pressure and or pump and probably covered by the manufacturer. I asked him if easy care warranty would give a hard time since I replaced filters with drop in and out Souls on axle back, and he said it shouldn't have anything to do with what's going on with misfires. Anyway fingers crossed it's cheap!!

I explained that didn't make sense and just got the one replaced. I found a great shop in west palm that I've had great experience with and I'll have them do the rest in a few months.
