Dinan coilovers

Has anyone installed the Dinan coilover set?

I just ordered it and it seems like a really nice setup. Definitely not the cheapest, but i was looking for the best set up which retained EDC control.

I bought my car a couple of weeks ago, and it has Dinan coilovers.

Obviously I never drove the car with the stock suspension, but I will say that the ride is the perfect combo of comfortable but aggressive. It's a pleasure to drive. It also has the Dinan sway bars and it handles really well.

If you got it new, it comes with reccomendated settings for track and road in a leaflet. Most installers suggest sticking to the road settings, at least to start, if you do not plan to track more than once monthly.

Suggest start with their recommended one and dial it based on your preferences and road conditions.

Also, its a coilover setup and at all times you can retain the EDC.

i have been running it for nearly two weeks and have been impressed so far.

besides the edc retention, the springs are only slightly more stiff than my non-comp suspension and the provided bump stops add another level of care and comfort.

i set it to rear spec provided by dinan (~.75") and lowered the front by about an inch. with the dinan sways, it's night and day on the cornering, stability and handling. i plan to lower it a bit more all around, ~.125", and then alignment.

happy to answer any questions you have

adding, if you are looking to install it yourself ... or want to subscribe to a killer build thread, check out chad's. he's got great mods going and insight on the diy install.

i went to my tuner. turned out awesome though; dinan provides great instructions and tech support.

Thakns for sending the link.

I installed springs on my f10 550i so these should be about the same install procedure. I have watched a couple videos and this kit comes with a ton of small spacers etc.

Mind posting pics? I’ve had them for 4 years and like them but if I lower it too much they get bouncy. Anyone else? The pics show it as low as I’ll go before I hate the ride. I have the sway bars too.

you can see how low i am here

it's all personal preference, of course, but i don't feel "bounce" on this set-up. i did play with the rear sway settings, going from mid to soft, as i noticed backend stiffness after lowering.

as stated, i am going to go a bit lower - and not worried about the ride. this thing is planted, only slightly stiffer and fun to drive with the dinan mods even on (horrible) detroit roads.

I’d say you’re about a slow as mine. Hope it works for you but going lower ruined the car imho.

Glad to see others are happy with the setup. I bought F/R swaybars, this adjustable spring set and monoballs. Hopefully will be installing them within the next month. I'll be sure to take photos and post up.
