..M5 insurance..

For some reason I haven't seen one thread yet relating to car insurance premiums, yet it can be the first stumbling block for some who want to own this car.
If you wish you can state what premiums you pay and if we think they're reasonable.
So I'll start with mine.
I pay £440 fully comp with most of the good protection add ons; the car has to be garaged overnight with this price.

I'm on the Isle of Man so may be different.
Fully comp for me and the wife £300. Parked on driveway overnight.

£440 is good. Would struggle with the garage overnight though.

Mine is £980. I was 26 when I took the policy out so I guess that doesn't help. Car is parked on the street.

I think you have the best deal there so far and no speed limits! on some roads there. You're not on the mainland so haven't the same problems hence your lower risk.

That's not bad on someone of your age and with the on street parking also.

If it counts, I did a quote as a prospective new owner, and the best price I was seeing was just over £1000 for a Competition Pack and thats with the maximum NCD and so forth. Shocking. Lol....wont stop me though ;-)

Way I will try to see it is that it equates to about £90 a month approx - doesn't bring on the heart attack when I rephrase the £1000+ this way

No one will break in or steal your car on the Isle of Man.
Much lower risk.

When looking for a quote on the internet I came across a cheeky scam that one or two ins. companies are using in relation to keeping your car in your garage overnight. When you are satisfied with a quote make sure that it's to keep your M in the garage just for overnight BEFORE you pay as when I questioned one about that they said that the car has to be put in during the daytime when not in use! which is ridiculous.
So ask up on that before you pay as in the small print there is a cancelation fee, don't get caught out.

20 years ncb is very good going; Living up town there with parking on street is probably going to keep the premium just a little bit higher.

I'd be happy with 720, we're pretty much on similar NCB as you and its over £1k for me, based on parking on driveway in north west london

An uncle of mine parks his '07 Mini Cooper on his 6' high gated driveway in NW2 and his premium at the mo is 570.He tells me it's a high risk burglary area and nearly fainted when I told him mine, thinks he is being ripped off.

Hi are you quoting your M5 finance repayments AddyDaddy as my thread is for car insurance only.Feel free to state what you pay for your 3rd party risk insurance unless it's included in those repayments.
