turn non CP into CP via coding??
One of my friends who own an M3 claims that CP and non CP use same hardware for the shock absorbers and diff, and the only difference is how software controls it.
He says that the settings for M3 GTS has become available on forums etc and is going to try it out and see how it goes. He says it is all done using esys. It would be very cool if we can simply read CP's config (given that we know which modules etc) and paste those onto non CP car and have the same setup. Anyone got more info on this? I always thought the shocks were different but if only edc software is different then its a good new for non cp users? |

If you are talking about the M3 GTS is he talking about the E92 or F82 generation?
The F82 GTS does have different DCT settings that you can flash on a non-GTS car, but other than that there are hardware changes. For the F82 the changes are here: https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1214853 The F06/10/12/13 changes are here: https://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=842219 Note that the M6 doesn't have the lower ride height but still has stiffer springs and bigger anti-roll bars. |

Regarding the exhaust, there are differences in addition to the black tips. Resonators are a different, a more straight through design, and the mufflers are different well.

I’ve fitted H&R springs and competition pack ARBs to my non cp m5 f10 2016.
Do I need to code the EDC to CP to reap full benefit of the hardware install. And has anyone done it?? |
