Big nothingburger, I'm over 99.3% and it was just slightly darker than a normal day but nothing remotely close to pitch dark...can't believe some ppl are making trips out of this thing that doesn't even last 2 minutes. Solar eclipse lemmings.

I like this one, it's got that French Impressionist look. Thanks for posting it.

Pretty subpar to be honest. Got a little dark then 30secs later it was bright again and we were over 99% here.
Glad all of the hoopla is over about it. Now, time to do some yardwork! lol

I was telling my wife that I learned a few lessons for next time. But around here "next time" is 75 years away, I think. So I guess my hard learned lessons will go to waste.

I was super bummed this morning. It was completely overcast and nasty. We already had plans to go to a park near our hotel. Got there around 9am thinking it would be packed. Nope. There were some people there but not many. No issues getting a covered picnic table.
Still cloudy as fuck. Hung out and had lunch there and all of the sudden the clouds all started clearing. It would get covered every so often by some clouds but for the most part it was clear. Then a little while before totality it got totally clear and stayed that way throughout the whole thing. I thought it was amazing. Even my friends that were skeptical about how cooler totality would be vs the partial we saw in 2017 were impressed. We really lucked out and so glad it wasn't a wasted trip, because honestly haven't been a huge fan of this part of TX otherwise, but that's another story. Wont post my crappy cell pics because there are much better ones already here. |

These are a couple that I took with my phone. I think they turned out ok.
And my camera still works fine.

Unfortunately it was pretty overcast in Austin. We were lucky and got a break in the clouds at the right time (but still blurry). All in all, really cool experience!
