Datalog analysis - does this look normal?
Hi all,
Just wanted to check something as I just took a couple of datalogs from my car and I'm not sure I'm happy with how the log looks but could do with some other opinions. I wasn't concerned with how the car was running at all until I did some logging and looked more carefully at some old datalogs I had saved. Essentially though to me it looks like it's pulling lots of timing across all cylinders - I don't think this is "normal" is it? I've also noticed it pull timing at idle (only like -0.5 to 1 degree) which seems weird and some knock events detected when I'm off the throttle. I assume that any knock events aren't normal or are some to expected here and there due to noisy engines? Datazap link Thank in advance, D4T |

Only pay attention to knock if it’s pulling timing, or else it’s most likely false knock |

I’m running the Stage 1 91 octane BM3 tune on UK 99 RON fuel as I wanted to leave some headway. The car made 699bhp on a local dyno and as I said I’ve never been that concerned until I noticed lots of timing pull.

I’m no professional but your timing seems ok, a few degrees here and there from my understsnd isn’t really an issue as there’s a lot of reasons why timing can be pulled, fuel etc. I don’t see any knock but again it’s difficult to look at the log on an iPhone. Timing is great only in some RPMS it’s being pulled.
