Terry's test M4 with E20 fuel and his piggyback running 24 psi still trapped significantly less 124 vs 127 by Vbox than my stock M6 CP. It will never be as fast as the top end Supercharged E92 M3's because of the uncrackable ECU I'm afraid .
Goodness 127 mph !!
I know M5's did 122 mph non CP so I shouldn't be surprised but man that is Stock BMW!! Just insane! BTW Stock GTR 2014 Trap? I know zero to 60 is 2.7 sec or so but any idea what trap is? And what's the trap for Aston Vanquish V12? Trap for R8 V10? all cars that are almost 2 times more expensive! ! Any more than 130 mph? Regardless of Zero to 60 as this is RWD thing?

Both mine and Terry's numbers are GPS avg of the last 60ft Vbox speed but a true trap speed in my opinion only happens at the drag strip on a regulated surface but the numbers are close .

It was quite good. I absolutely enjoyed the chassis, very rigid and composed. Power delivery was nice without noticeable turbo lag. DCT paired nicely with the S55.

The M3 gives me what I missed with the M5, a more nimble and capable chassis with everyday usability. What I will miss in my M5 include the B&O, the interior, and comfort seats.

According to motor trend, 2013 GTR Black Edition trap speed is 124.8 mph and reaches 1/4 mile in 11.1 second. 2014 GTR Track Edition, 125.1 in 11 second. R8 V10, 122.1 in 11.6 second. R8 V10 plus, 125.8 in 11.3 second and Aston Vanquish V12, 116.2, 12.3 second. The most interesting thing is that M6 CP beat all of them in 0-250 km/h ... and in 0-300 km/h, 5.3 second faster than GTR TE and 9.5 second faster than R8 +

the preach to choir thread no doubt--- don't ruin the m4 boys new purchases LOL.

anyways if I got the car it would be for a gap filler since I don't have a BMW in my stable and I want one again (already had the F10 and F13 M variants). So don't shoot me but I would consider the latest but not the greatest LOL.

But it would be between the M4 and the Jaguar F Type R Coupe (and I said like an Englishman= Cooo pay LOL)

so lets you and I talk further since we are on the same page....

If I get the M4 I would have to mod the exhaust and possibly the suspension (any springs yet) and then wait for hp/tq mods. The car looks great.

If I get the Jag- the sound is brilliant and I get 550hp already and there are H&R sport springs out. I actually like the wheels on the car so Im not sure I need to mod that (295x30x20 meats in the back). It appears to be a more plug and play car for my ADD issues. Oh I forgot there is a tune and pulley out too pushing 100 wheel.

Yeah I say go for the Jag man. For reasons of exhaust note alone. The Jag will be the car you will LOVE to drive where as the M4 will be the car you LIKE to drive. Plus 100whp with just tune and pulley is F'ing ridiculous!!! Since you already have a flotilla of other exotic cars, the Jag would compliment them nicely, although the M4 will offer more daily drivability since it is built that way. The only lowering springs that can work on the M4 at the moment are the H&R's for the 335i. They work, but they were not specifically designed for the M4. The Jag is so sexy though, I could never get an M4 over the Jag if I could afford either. Damn, I need to go test drive that Jag, maybe this weekend. Supposed to go racing with my Abarth this weekend though, so hopefully can squeeze it in. Also GMD is right about tuning the S55 engine, it's just not going to be able to make that much power because of the encryption like the M5 engine. I still believe that the S63tu engine is a 1,000hp capable engine on stock turbos, but we'll never know.

I agree its taking 800hp crank like a champ... 150-200 should not be a problem.

Well VIC, Since you have (had) so many high performance cars, you know better than me what you have to do. I, personally don't get decision based on Engine/Exhaust sound , I mean it's really great to have a fantastic sound but it's not a deal breaker for me. As I said before, to me (it's preference) the best exhaust sound is MB AMG, but I got M6 instead of MB because of many things that MB can't satisfy me. As far as suspension and hp and tq I'm with you, however I didn't do any of them to my M6 since I believe this car has everything she needs. I mean there is no point to have more power and torque for a DD car which has already lots of power. I'm not gonna track my car and I'm not a young racer to go around and find people to race in street either, but whenever I challenged most of the cars, I could push the car to show them what a stock M car can do
For M4 it's different story since it's a track car (IMO).
So again yes, I think if you get M4, for sure you have to (and you will) go for tuning. Let's wait to test drive the car first. I'm sure it's a fun car. To be honest with you, it's not that bad that M5/M6 owners say and it's not that fantastic M3/M4 lovers say. to me it's a 70k M car with good (or great) sporty character that triggers me to own one with no package on it and of course MT and tuning as my second car since I have just one car and it's M6 I need to test drive the M4, but non of dealers in area let people test drive the car.I have to wait a month or so..
As far as Jag, as I said it's a great car but not my taste and I know I can't own this car more than 3-4 months and I'm the guy who keep the car for years. the only car I owned for less than 1 year was 2013 650i M-package bc I owned another 650 for about 2 years and as soon as I test drove the M6 I lost my mind and traded 650i after 4 months ownership You are different guy and keep your cars for months, so I think it's logical for you to give the Jag chance to stay in your Stable for several months!

LOL well said... I for one must have sound to match up to the power. I love mating sound with rpms and driving speeds/conditions. And I agree the M3/4 is a viable option- the test drive will yield thoughts.

Oh what did the M4 do around the Ring? I might be wrong but I heard the Jag did it around 7:39?? Not bad.

Edit found the Jag ring time:

TBH, I don't believe those numbers since numbers are related to drivers and conditions as well; however there is a huge difference between 7:39 (?)and 7:55 that cannot be related to drivers!
Just as comparison, the auto express reported 1:09:90 for M4 and 1.12.2 for Jag. the same driver, the same track, but yes of course different days that may affect the results

Yeah I figured since a lot of people don't come to this side of the forum where ColdList and Vic55 lurk around, like "Smaug the Dragon" from Lord of the Rings, I figured hey, what does it matter?

I know about Smaug--- and his desolation. And I personally like this side since it incorporates more than just Bimmers. I think this forum is one of the few that allows for relatively mature discussions about competitors.

I still go to the main forum for random posting but since I don't own an F10 the first place I gravitate is here.

I love it here. I feel free whenever I hang out around these parts.

So when are you picking up the Jag??

He's done other car reviews as well. I saw one he did on a Space Gray M5.

He sounds like he's got some southern draw as well as an Asian accent. Very unique and comical.
