After 4 Porsche Turbos- I am 9000 RPM's High = 2015 GT3

Well I was always going to get the car and come back to Porsche. The only question was when and I was eyeing this open build for about 2 weeks. Its not a perfect build; that's what a order car is for, but it has all I wanted and then some. Of course its white!!!

What a car this thing is... The handling, the steering, the aural lift at 6k plus rpms and the interior just takes the cake. Now it doesn't have all the luxury items the Turbo S had but I don't care. Hell my Ferrari doesn't even have homelink LOL. The experience with my short drive home from the dealer (about 60 miles) was nothing short of brilliant. The car is flatter in turns and in straights than even, dare I say, the 458. Its a pancake of love and its the easiest driver Ive ever owned. Now I do need more seat time and I will provide more input. The exhaust is excellent- maybe just a little too docile at low rpms but the SW bypass will solve that or I can just plug the valves and keep them open all the time. I have really grown accustomed to the amazing 991 chassis (this is my third) and to drop weight, add hp, and put it in the GT3 is incredible. This PDK aka PDK-S (mode I use) is the fastest programmed PDK I've owned and I have had 4 Porsche PDK's. Did I mention the handling? This car is driver bliss and while its not as fast as the Turbo S its more rewarding. The Turbo S is truly a GT car and this is a race car for the street. Im having a blast!!!

I will say that the Jag still has the best stock exhaust out there. I wont say the note because the sound of the GT3 LeMans style shrieks are crazy. I would just say the Jag has the most to say I do need to tint the thing.

Here are a few cell phone shots:

Looks awesome! Enjoy.

I didn't realize the GT3 had a centered exhaust.

Thank you sir.

I believe the 996 had the exhaust on the outside on each end and the 997 and 991 all run center along with the RS model.

Amazing car there... build is pretty awesome.

Did you let something go out of the stable for this?

Again, congrats... will look forward to your more in-depth review of this vs. the TTS

I didn't miss your question ... you edited your post and added it LOL

Well I drove it from LA yesterday on some pretty shitty roads ala La Cienega, 710, I-10, etc and it was actually great. I could definitely daily this car but its a bit flashy to say the least. I leave the car in the sport shock set up and I love the rigidity that comes with this setup.

Yep I like them because with the non ccb's they don't show the dust all too much.

Maybe if I drove one but looks wise and interior, nothing about that car does it for me in any color. I am not trying to be negative because I can see you guys that have them really like them but nothing about the car makes me want to jump in and drive it.

Enjoy!

Awesome car Vic. Colors are great though I think that car looks good in pretty much any color.

Is something else in your stable being voted out of the garage?

Would love to have gotten a GT3 over my TT but I have too many ramps, steep driveways, terrible NE roads to make it work.

Haha! Me too. I literally took it to 9K as I pulled out of the dealership. I was back the next day and a salesman thanked me. Told me he looked at his clients and said "THAT'S how you are supposed to drive a Porsche!". He said it made everyone's day-lol.

Congrats! Crazy how that car drives huh? Even more crazy how EASY it is to drive. Glad you got it. Of the 4 991s I have had this is by far the most exhilarating to drive. Like you said, it's a race car for the street. I drive mine like you-sport all the time. Perfect DD. Only problem with the car is that it is hard to NOT drive. Your other cars will tend to sit-hahaha! Went and picked up the MAC today after taking the GT3 to C&O just because I haven't driven it since I took delivery of the GT3. I forgot how much attention it gets. Just drive your 458 every now and then and it will seem less flashy.

Nice one, Vic. The TTS may be more luxurious, practical, and rapid, but as you said, the GT3 is a raw thriller - and it's more aesthetically pleasing IMO...

Are you going to wrap that big beautiful wing?

Thanks for all the kind comments...

I don't think, besides tint and exhaust, I will be modding it. I am not sure about wrapping the wing as its got too many contours and cuts for a clean job. The car is about as "turn key" as it gets with the 20x9 fronts and 20x12 rears. Its got an aggressive drop from the factory and the front sits lower than my lowered Ferrari, R8, RS7, BS, or Jag. The radio is nothing to write home about but the exhaust covers that LOL and its still miles better than the Ferrari audio system.
