Weird Noise
I assume this probably can't be diagnosed so I suspect I'll have to set up an appointment with my shop but here's the situation...
Washed the car yesterday. Pulled it into the garage, set the parking brake. Got in today, disengaged the parking brake, put it in reverse and it help up for a moment then made a clunk. Not sure if the e brake was stuck and then broke free? To make matters stranger, it now feels like there's something "loose" in the front end. Seems to make a peculiar noise turning to the left. Am I correct in that the parking brake is only on the rear wheels? If that's the case then something else happened when I put it into reverse and started moving. Ugh. |

When you wash the car and put her right in the garage, the rotors will slightly surface rust. Especially worse if you apply the parking brake, really no need to apply in a garage. That clunk you heard was the rotor coming free from the pads. If you wash the car, take it for a quick spin before putting away, will lessen this and def. dont apply parking brake unless absolutely necessary in the garage with the rotors wet. I would guess everything is fine, get out and drive slowly and see if anymore strange noises.

That’s really helpful. Is the parking brake on the front wheels?
