Display key retrofit F10

Good evening all (at least here in Germany)!

I successfully got a display key working, using comfort access and receiving various nice details about the car status. My Instagram m5sile is showing the details and a few videos, the key quality is right on par with the OEM display key. All you need is a key programmer to adapt this key to your car, by using the CAS and your original keys.
I could get a great deal with a minimum order of 10 keys, I will provide detailed installation instructions.
Would there be any interest and what's the price range you guys are comfortable with?
If enough interest sparks, I will order the keys, do a pre-setup, check the components and ship it your way. This specific display key is proven to work and programmable, unlike many other similar keys on the market. I purchased a few of them and learnt the hard way. Please let me know what you guys think, I really enjoy my new key and it's a great show-off piece

Quick update:

5 on this platform are interested
2 more of another community are interested as well

Once we hit 10 total, I can get a group buy deal for us, still working out the details.

This key is an OEM display key clone, the original keys can't be programmed to our cars. I did a lot research and looked into an OEM retrofit, but wasn't able to locate any options. Once I have concrete figures, I will post pricing and shipment options.
Please stay tuned and thank you for your interest!

Guys,

I need some shipping advice. Due to COVID-19, shipment options from Germany to the US are limited and rather expensive, the key packaging is small and light. I can't have the supplier ship them directly, since I'm buying in bulk. It will be a one time shipment to me and then I arrange further distribution on my end. I would hate to offer you a wonderful piece of technology at a great price, but shipping costs will eat up the savings. Any ideas before I order these keys for all interested buyers?

Thanks for any input, I was looking into reasonably priced shipping for days now

Any idea if this suffers from the same issues outlined in an early version?

I use my display key every day and the battery lasts at least a week, depending on your display usage. The physical buttons work as well, saving the overall battery life. If you turn off the display and just use the comfort access, it will last around 3 weeks. This key can be charged via cable or wireless pad. And even in case the battery is empty, you can still open and start the car, like with any regular key.

At this point, I consider ordering the minimum quantity of 10 keys, the unit price is $269 plus shipping. Unfortunately, I need to find reasonable shipping options from Germany to the US. Once this specific open point is cleared, I can give each one of you a full quote.

The kit will include a high quality display key clone with BMW logo and the transponder module to allow for communication between the key and your car, e.g. mileage, fuel reserve, alarm system status, lights status, windows and door status, etc. The installation on NBT cars (07/13 and onwards) is very simple, CIC equipped cars are a little more wiring work. I assure proper setup and functionality check of each key, secure packaging and installation instructions.

If there are any questions, please let me know.
Let's get the shipping question solved and I will order on Monday

Have a great weekend guys!

I'm interested. Especially for that price. Also I looked at that link above highlighting battery issues and realized that his remote started his car.....The one you are proposing for this group buy also looks like it has a remote start feature.....does that work with our cars (or because its not OEM we wont have that feature)?

Lastly the kies rep/owner was discussing the key they were thinking of selling and some issues with it (battery life of course being one, but the 24 hour time, metric vs standard, OEM comfort access not working and a few other things), can you speak to some of that with this key. I'm sorry about all the questions.

No worries, answering questions is part of the game

The key screen offers touch buttons to lock/unlock the car, open the trunk and remote start, but these features are not functional. In order to have these buttons fully active and remote start your car, you need to purchase a full kit with an external controller box and additional sensors. In order to remote start the car, the transmission setting, brake position and other parameters need to be monitored. Furthermore, one original key has to be connected to the controller box. I looked into the full kit, but opted against it, since the installation is quite an undertaking and one key is permanently hooked up in the car. It's possible, just a lot more pricey and massive installation effort!

The key offered here has all the features of a regular key, including comfort access. The profile saved to the original key is maintained by this display key, no difference to the original key in any way. In a nutshell, it works exactly like your current key, but additionally offers a touch display with access to vital car I formation, like range/battery voltage/mileage/window and door status/alarm status. It's really close to the original BMW Display key, just without remote start and parking feature.

Hope this helps, feel free to ask anything that's on your mind.

its crazy to me how my wife's explorer has remote start but my M5 doesnt.......crazy. Anyway yeah I need another key anyway so I'm all in for a display key that can be used the way my current key works.

Put me down on the bulk order.

Remote start would require alot more hardware. From the sound of it just look at this as a replacement for your current comfort access key.

Remote start and parking assist require those features installed already on the car.

Correct, it's a direct replacement with the touch display feature. And looking at the total cost of a new replacement key, it's actually a bargain.

Unfortunately, shipping costs to the US are still 2 - 3 x the regular rate due to COVID-19...still looking for reasonable options, it's insane...it's around $50 to ship a small package, letters are not allowed

Once again, hit me up if you have a shipper on hand!
