2012 F10 M5 Spotted In White
This white 2012 M5 was spotted out testing today and is the first non-black F10 M5 we have seen. This signals that the M5 is now in FEP stage. Its camouflage remains similar to recent F10 M5 test mules, but its LED angel eyes are showed off nicely. The front and rear bumper remain covered, but we have posted the previously spotted mostly revealed M5 front bumper below for reference. All the other body panels you see, including mirrors and wheels are production intent.
The 2012 M5 is expected to premier at the 2011 Frankfurt IAA autoshow in September 2011. Be sure to follow our complete F10 M5 coverage here: http://www.bimmerpost.com/m5/ Front bumper revealed previously:

Those rear wheels look nice and wide
I always felt like the general shape of the F10 would end up hindering the aggressiveness of the M5 based off it. I'm still not sure... The bumpers and wheels alone aren't doing it for me. |

BTW, I know everyone keeps saying that this will be unveiled at Frankfurt in Sep 2011, but somehow I find that so hard to believe. We have been watching this car for so many months already, and its still a year away from being UNVEILED, let alone from being on the showroom floor?

No offense to anyone who likes the new F10 M5, but if that white M5 is close to production, all I can say is that it looks too subtle.
I like it to look more aggressive. Maybe, it's the camo as well. It just made the car look subtle... |

The M5 will be revealed in the second half of 2011 with it's main premiere at the IAA In Frankfurt , September 2011.
Dr.Kay Segler announced the car will debut in this time in his prelimary interview of the 1M. However the first appearance of the M5 will debut as a Concept Car in the same way as the E60 M5 in 2004 @ Geneva this coming March. With the production car almost afterwards. There is an M5 Board video with Dr.Segler at the M3 talking about the usual time frame for an M5 being 1 and a half years. The long development time is for full testing of the technology that will be available for the M5 plus usual testing on aerodynamics and cooling. Even before the 1M , M5 was the highest priority. It will be bringing a lot of firsts , and innovations for an M5 and for the Luxury Performance Sedan segment. |

Still not aggressive enough. Needs to look meaner. Looks like any other 5 series IMO.

It would be awesome if, just to fuck with us, the test driver dressed as (what used to be) The Stig.
