2015 911 Carrera 4 GTS Cabriolet

I know this is a BMW forum, and I know they are two different cars, and I know, I know, I know... I've got a serious Jones for this auto... Just sayin'...

You are not alone. I plan on getting a 991 GTS next year as a DD. I was toying the idea of a Jag R Coupe, but I need them 2 extra seats to ferry my 2 rascals, plus I have always wanted to own a 911. A GTS instead of TT becos I don't need so much power I can't use on the roads here and I prefer NA.

The GTS is gonna be awesome. 430hp? What's not to love about that?! I prefer the Coupe to the Cab, but that's just me. Also the new Panamera is right around the corner. I wonder what the next Generation Panamera GTS is going to bring? How much power will it have? And will it be turbo?

Coupe for sure! 911 Cabs look a bit off in my opinion

If you want a 991 with a 7-speed stick shift, then the GTS is the current fastest variant.

Personally I want a 911 Carrera 4 GTS with the stick

I always said I would never order a 911 without a stick, but I must be getting old and/or the M5 with this transmission has converted me... For me it's the cabriolet 4 GTS with the PDK.

Unless you really need the vestigal rear seats, find a way to buy a GT3. The cynic in me just looks at the GTS as yet another way for Porsche to separate lots of cash from potential owners at the end of a particular 'run' of a car, which is happening to the 991.1 versions soon. The price of a well optioned GTS places the car in new TT, or perhaps even used TT-S territory, and you'll be getting a 'better' car for your money buying a turbo, or of course the GT3. YMMV of course.

Couldn't agree more. The GTS is an awesome car...like most Porsches but it feels more like a marketing gimmick and not sure about how it will retain its value compared to other options.

When do we see the next generation? I thought we we only about 2 or 3 years into this one? Thanks.

Then new Cayenne GTS will be a 6 cyl. turbo. I expect the Panamera will be the same. I can find out for sure but my gut says this is correct. There goes the sound. Funny how my MAC with turbo can sound so sweet but Porsche does nothing to make the TTS have any real sound.

I do beleieve Porsche is the best car there is. They just feel "right", And the GT3-wow! PERFECT! (except, Henry, my MAC will whip it!-lol!)

The GTS is only worth it if you get it in manual and keep the price below $140k. If it's more than 140 might as well get a GT3 I say.

Others will have a better feel for this than me, but iirc the 991.2 versions will be released as 2016s.

Ha. On a plane back from the big city. Let's connect this week, and take me for a spin in that beast. Did you order SW?

Any of the current 911's are a great buy. Wonderful cars. And may be more rare in the future with the introduction of the turbo engines (not yet confirmed and hopefully will come with the next generation not the refresh).
