You're thinking too much about it. Just do it. Many have done it with good results. If you're worried about the filters in general get a dry cotton media filter and fit it over where you cut the oem filters.

I meant, has anyone run the Proram filters from Ramair?

Unless you want to spend a lot of money you have no choice but to get oiled filters. There is a dry alternative made by eventuri but they are drop in panel filters.

Besides oiled filters eventually fouling the MAF sensors, the other drawback could be increased engine wear. Especially if you don't service the filters regularly. Basically just a little higher risk since the filter elements are exposed to everything - rain and even more "debris" than the stock intake location. Most people don't mind the risk since it's not that high, but for long term use it's something to be aware of. I only bring it up since you're asking pros/cons.

I'm locating the foam ram air filters inside the Oem boxes just removing the lids then running air duct from
Grill to them or try an connect to the stock air duct some how?
