Intermittent iPhone/iPod Connectivity

Is anyone with a F10 having problems with iPhone/iPod connectivity?

Whether it's my iPhone 5 or an iPod Nano, my car only sporadically connects to the device. Maybe 1 day out of every 5.

No problems with my iPod, although it's an older model (Classic).

Had the same issue. It's the cable you're using. Some apple cables go in and out. They gave me a BMW accessory iphone cable which tees into an AUX cable and USB cable and it works fine now.

I've used two different cables: one for iPhone 5 and one for iPod. Same result.

I'm finding that sometimes I must reset the iPhone/iPod and reboot the Navigation. Then futz with it... like have music playing while connecting the device... then it connects. Argh!

Has anyone who is having the intermittent connectivity issue had it checked out and/or fixed? I'm having the same issue but not keen on having the dealer experiment if there's not a known fix....

This issue has largely disappeared... however, from time-to-time, it occurs.

I have to close the iPhone Music/Podcast app (from main screen, hold down home button, click the 'x' on the app to close it in the background), then restart the phone. That seems to fix it.

Sometimes I have to fuddle with the iPhone. Like closing the music application ("task manager"), restarting it, hit play while I select "external device" on the car. If I have the issue, my fuddling takes about 15 seconds to get it working again. It might be faster if I knew the right sequence.
