Check Engine light

So my car gave me a reminder about service in 350 miles for oil check and vehicle check.

that appeared on the instrument cluster, and shortly after that the check engine light came on on the upper right hand corner of the cluster, but the idrive didnt give me any sort of error messages and the idrive says "all systems ok" car isnt misfiring or anything or running differently.

im going to take it to the dealer to get the service done anyway, but my question is, is the check engine light related at all to the oil needing to be changed or serviced?

I recently got the reminder message too, but without the CEL. I got the oil and vehicle check done last week.

hmmm. well i will know tomorrow morning after i take it to the dealer lol

Unrelated, you have some type of emissions related fault which is not serious enough to cause a drivetrain malfunction - and therefore the iDrive will show everything as ok. Hope this helps - have the dealer check it out.

surprisingly this morning the light was gone. but i have an appt to get the oil changed and what not, ill have them check it out then.

Could have been some bad gas. I had that happen once on my old E60 M5. Light went away the next day and never came back.
