If anyone interested in a private tour of the Dingolfing BMW Plant on Oct 1st @5.30

Hi,

as part of my ED on Oct 1st (@11am) I am scheduling a privatge tour
of the Dingolfing plant on Oct 1st @5.30pm and it turns out I can invite
a few more folks if interested (so far we're 3)
The Dingolfing plant is building 5/6/7 series, the M5 and Rolls Royce bodies.

It is one of the most advanced plants world wide

JMH, I'm scheduled to take delivery on Oct 1st in the morning as well. My wife and I would definitely be interested! Lets confirm and then work logistics as we get closer. Thanks for the opportunity!

I am arriving on Oct. 1 and originally scheduled to pick up the car on the 2nd but have been asked by BMW to pick it up a day earlier as they are thinking of closing the Welt for any ED pickup on the 2nd as they intend to hold some event. I will have to rush from the airport to the hotel then to the Welt to pick up the car. I'd like to join you guys on the tour if I get to do all the above mentioned things by 4:00PM. Where would be the meeting place?

The tour starts at 5.30pm at the BMW Factory in Dingolfing . Folks should be there by ~5pm

I plan to head there from The Welt but probably make a stop at the BMW Factory Dealership along the way (folks are welcome to tag along)

This route will take you pust (the unassuming) BMW ///M GmbH building near The Welt and also past the BMW Factory Dealership (largest ///M showroom and lots of interesting Individual cars and parts to buy )

Not scheduled yet , maybe they've run out of Brilliant White paint

Looks like the paint has arrived and it's now moved to a week 37 build.
It might collect dust for almost 4 weeks while sitting on the "lot"

Just giving this a little bump in cases there are others around on October 1st who want to join us for the factory tour in Dingolfing at 5pm .
For those interested in dinner after the tour we could consider heading to one of the nicer
beer gardens in Munich on the way back (Aumeister/Emmeransmuehle/etc) . Also depends on how the weather will cooperate (else we can always find something indoors).

My wife and I are still keeping the Dingolfing tour in our itinerary. I like your thoughts about driving by ///M and/or Factory Dealership sounds great too, lets definitely travel from the Welt out together and do dinner afterwards, sounds like a blast!
We actually have a Oct 1 8:10am check in followed by a 9:40am delivery ... so we plan on doing the 11:30am Factory Tour next to the Welt. Anyone else planning on doing that tour as well?

Yes 5.30pm in Dingolfing , probably just typed 5pm so we're on time
I have a 9.30 check-in and 11am delivery, I won't be doing the Munich tour as
I'll have to pick up two friends at the airport at 8am as they're flying in for the
delivery (one is the BMW dealer's GM and the other one is their shop-foreman).
So we do have plenty of technical/support coverage

JMH ... if you are still planning on leaving from The Welt, what do you say to all of us picking a time/meeting location at The Welt (say Front Desk? 3pm??) and then we can follow one another on the route you've defined?

I think that's a good plan. Depending on timing we can stop at the BMW "Niederlassung" (BMW Factory Dealership) for some window shopping/browsing and/or a stop at ///M GmbH/Studio and factory paintshop which is just across the road from ///M . If nothing else for a quick photo op .
It's all on the way and we can easily detour/correct based on weather/traffic/timing.

Also have any of you heard if the oil pump recall affects your 10/1 delivery? As far as I can tell mine is still in production, do hopefully the fix it from the start.

Do you have your VIN yet as you can check? Mine is in production and I checked its VIN number against the list and did not find it listed (under the dealer's). I did not do a page by page check as I presume the VINs listed per dealer is adequate.

Ask to spend more time at the engine assembly area, especially where the oil pumps are installed.
Also check out the interior install department, see if any of the bins contain seat bolsters with 20 way controls......

Yep I heard from the other two listed as F10 M5 deliveries and they're coming
to the M Studio event (glad they made it happen for us) .
We'll probably gather at The Welt and head over , also working on maybe getting a peak into the paintshop next door where all the "special" colors are done.

One note of warning : there is a lot of traffic at this time on Friday going towards Dingolfing. So don't rely on Nav system estimate, or ability to drive autobahn speeds.

I booked the tour for 9/21 and missed it by 30mons due to traffic. And when you show up late the entire welcome desk is unmanned so you can't see anything.
