Claiming on warranty

Does anyone have experience claiming on the BMW (extended) warranty with the excess?

I’m looking to take the car to the main dealer for two items:

Driver door handle comfort entry
Something in the tyre pressure monitoring

And Hopefully something else so I stiff the warranty company

Will I pay excess on each item? Is excess plus VAT?

About 7mths a go I had a single DTM light, it went away and I think it was fuelling (low tank level) Can I get that checked for free or does it cost money?

Thanks

Its £250 per claim I believe but you can just call them and ask, it should be £250 in total, not 100% if three issues would be £750 but I doubt it would be

How easy it is to deal with warranty will come to the individual BMW service department although it should be easy and is the best warranty to have

there is no VAT on the 250 however I do believe that it is 250 per claim which is per issue

yes £250 p/claim so best to let issues stack up if possible, I also recall dealers charging for the diagnosis @ c£130p/h if the claim was not covered under warranty, process is seemless alot easier then 3rd part warranty cos

Thanks for replies, helpful on phone yesterday.

Dealer didn’t seem clued up, tried to tell me diagnostic was a fee payable anyway and didn’t know about excesses.

It’s a ‘drop the car and leave’ arrangement. I’d rather not do it now but I don’t want warranty to expire without addressing issues. It’s going to be really uncomfortable with the car after picking up, I’ll take it home, disinfect and leave it for a week before using again.

diagnostic fee is payable and then waived so long as the issue is covered under warranty, if not you pay the investigation fee

I have had this issue too on my M6, I assume its the same system.

At first BMW diagnosed the handle, however as soon as I told them about the trcaker their attention quickly diverted to the tracker being the issue, to be honest I gave up in the end, I am currently living with the issue as I am sick of my car being in the garage and being tinkered with

I did read up on this issue before I purchased mine and hunted a car without the CE system.

I quite like comfort entry, once you get into the habits, clicking keys and slamming doors doesn’t feel right.

I don’t like the front parking sensor, this is the first car I’ve had where the sensor doesn’t come on automatically.

Judging by what he said he has both comfort access and soft close. Wouldn't have it any other way.

You don't slam soft close and...let him answer?

Sorry I thought comfort access and soft close were the same option. Glad I didn’t buy mine new I bet they cost a few quid. It’s my access driver door handle that doesn’t work. In fact it hasn’t worked for 2 years and I didn’t realise. Every time I needed to get in I’d need to ‘pump’ the handle and would think to myself it’s not the best engineered comfort entry.

BMW were very good about COVID. The showroom full of M cars was just gathering dust. Passing my keys via ziploc bags under a Perspex screen. Weird times.

He didn't say he didn't have soft close, he just said he thought they were the same, I.e. he thought you automatically get soft close doors with comfort access, the same option.

Maybe he does maybe he doesn't, but originally he said clicking keys and slamming doors just doesn't seem right. Suggesting he possibly has both comfort access and soft close.

That's why it doesn't seem right to him, like clicking keys, which he doesn't do either.

Just to pitch in with some boring, door handles are not covered by warranty but door handle comfort entry (which requires the replacement of the whole handle) is. Required some telephone intervention with warranty company...who were pretty friendly actually.
