Sick... Don't expect the level of refinement as a P-car or Ferrari... But also don't expect those price tags either...

The whole new Vette lineup is a real contender. I give GM credit. As one of the other posters said, don't expect quite P-car and Ferrari levels of refinement at that price point, but, hey, it's more than just a great value. I'd tone down the color to avoid some of that American boy-racer look, but it's a winner.

It's absolutely a winner. Seems like it finally graduated from being an American muscle/boy-racer car to being an all out destroyer of everything on the track. It'll probably kill everything on the track short of a 12C, GTR, and 911 GT3, and will probably beat some of those too. All for a fraction of the price. Plus it looks rather vicious too! Would I drive one as my only car and daily driver? Nope. Would I own one as a weekend car/track car? Definitely.

Exactly but they seem to be improving a lot !

Anyone knows what would be the price more or less? I'm reading that they will start production late '14

So does this trump your dreams of a Cayman GTS or Cayman GT3?

I've owned American a few times but never under the "sports car" or "performance" vehicle descriptor.

Im doing business with GM so I have a chance at a great price too on this car. But I wont get it in yellow

Just not such a big thing to me. Just looking at the C7 at the auto shows here a few times it became apparent that it is in fact very "GM" at it's core. Dressed up pretty but you still see the nuances that give away underlying sub-par quality as has always been the case with Vettes. Just doesn't look very tight to me for lack of a better term. Yeah, it will be fast but it still has that "plasticy" look to me.

Nope, I'd still rather have a Cayman GTS or GT4 than a C7 Z06. The 2015 Z06 would be on a long list of cars I'd love to take to the track, but it would be at the bottom unfortunately. The only thing that I don't like about the new Z06 is that American Cross Plane V8 exhaust note. Never have been a fan.

Funny enough and to your point -
My friend with 2012 Z06 when brand new took me for a spin and when he took off (He is a previous owner of Porsche 911 S) the wood trim around the console fell off (Literally) or came out of its place popping out !! And he laughingly as part of getting used to GM product probably !! Just clicked it back in! in a second and looked at me and said (Chevy you know)!!!
And he got it for about 85k!!

I hope they keep it under $100k. The allure of the Z06 is a reasonable price tag for a toy/3rd car. (SUV / sedan / sports car).
If they get to $100k, that's when I pass. $85-90k is my limit on a vette. At that point, I'd step up my budget and go 911.

I think Car and Driver did a comparison not too long ago of the Z/28 and GT-R-
and that thing was one hell of a track car.. I expect the Z06 to shatter the numbers... Deff going to be interesting to see the numbers but I predict that the car will be in the top 5 for track cars...

Makes sense for me in this regard as well. I wont get this car thinking that it has the be the pinnacle of luxury on the inside. Yes I would want functioning electronics but I would not care so much about the "feel" inside as much as I would care about the driveability and performance. I think it will be exactly that, a weekend warrior or short drive marauder.

Exactly, you gotta respect its identity for what it is, Just pure brute performance. Also, the interior is definitely a step up from the previous gen which is a plus. Not sure why they didn't throw the DCT in there.
