If you have skinny arms you can do it all from atop the motor. If not you'll have to raise your car to access the passenger side.my guy changed them very fast.

I ended up doing both from the bottom. The passenger side was easy and for the drivers side I took out the steering shaft.

Boots, what kind of boost levels are you able to run on 3.5BAR sensors? 25/26 PSI?

So can you buy same 3.5 bar map sensors that go in the charge coolers, and then replace them with the 2.5 bar ones directly in manifold to be able to run extra psi ??

I looked up that exact same info last night. Apparently yes.. THe 3.5 BAR map sensors the intercoolers use are the same ones on the manifold. However, the Manifold ones are 2.5BAR. About to get me a pair from ECS tuning after I speak to my tuner.

Wondering if I can hit 25PSI on a new Flash Tune.

Thats the BIG question im wondering, as if so we wont need JB4 to get that extra boost, hoping someone in the know can help me and epiphanyray

Im pretty sure you can reach 24-25 or maybe even 26 psi of boost with 3.5Bar map sensors. This is where In my opinion JB4 takes the cake. The ability of changing maps on the fly as opposed to having your tuner have to re flash the car back to 23 or 24psi of boost (if in fact 25-26 is too much for your clutches).

Its a convenience. What are you trying to do Finance Nick.

Me personally, I want to take my car to the absolute limit Before needing clutches. I dont drive the car hard on a daily basis, and do straight line events once ever 2-3 months. So If I can get to 660-680WHP and maybe 640WTQ at a slightly higher PSI boost (with 3.5 bar map sensors) then I would be happy.

Im just bored of 22 psi from stock turbos, going to 26 psi on stage 2 could make me fall in love with the car again, but i'll def need clutches as im running decent dose of pure meth too, and feel im close to the clutches limit now

You don't need to change all 4, those located on intercoolers are 3.5 bar already, these located on intake manifolds are 2.5 bar.

Bump for Halim so I can buy these from boots. I get overboost codes and stuck in limp mode for an hour or so anytime I try going over 21psi. If the sensors in the intercooler are 3.5 bar but the intake manifold are 2.5 bar, it seems logical to change the manifold ones to 3.5 bar versions and then change the setting in the JB4 as well to get over 21psi, yes? I've read of 550i N63 non-TU guys pushing upwards of 26psi without issue so in at a loss as to what my issue is.

The S63TU uses the same pressure sensor on the intake manifold that is known as the 3.5bar N20 upgrade for higher boosting N54 engine users for whatever that's worth. I still don't understand why we've got 3.5 bar sensors on our intercoolers but supposedy only 2.5 bar sensors on our intake manifold...I can't imagine pressure losses are that indifferent between pre and post intercooler. The only reason I haven't verified what Terry has said on N54Tech is because, as mentioned above, the intake manifold ones are a bitch to access.

Does changing the map sensors in the intakes to the 3,5bar ones require changing the stock map?

I'm asking because I'm installing my new build forged motor in the car and thought its easier to change the map sensors before the engine gets installed into the car.

I'm planing to run the stock map in the breaking in period.
