I drove with Michelin Alpine 4 M+S tires on mine during winter two years ago.
Ran stock summer tire spec (265/295 20"). I found the car ran very well on those, traction was good and I was all in all very happy with them. Would not use them in the summer though. But I guess this is not what you asked about

I've got no direct experience on the M5 with all season tires....
But what I can say is you will not be happy with summer performance, and you likely will also not be happy with winter performance if you have to deal with snow/ice on a regular basis. In the summer your traction will be garbage. You've got a 600hp car, with traction already limited on a summer high performance tire. You'll be spinning all day when on the throttle. In the winter, you might be fine in most situations but with snowfall/ice there's a pretty significant difference between All Season and Snow/Ice tires. With RWD you might struggle on snowfall days. Best to get two sets of tires.

Snow and Ice tyres on just the rears and those snow bands on the front for snow/ice.
Forget all seasons in the summer on M5,they're just for lesser cars. |

I just finished up a set of Bridgestone RE980AS's (265/305) and enjoyed them. Great performance in the cold and in summer. The fronts lasted a year, rears 6 months. A week and a half ago I moved to Continental DSW06 plus's (275/305) and they seem great so far. Took them on a 4 hour mountain drive Sunday over the Foothills Parkway, the Dragon and then the Cherohola Parkway. I'm really liking the feel of the 275's on the front. The 305's are coping with 600whp as well.
