B&O audio Any good with sat radio music

I'm considering B&O audio upgrade for my 2015 M5 order....i mostly listen to sat radio (60s and 70s channel) music. i use Cds occasionally must mostly sat radio. Will i notice a significant enough improvement with B&O over the stock audio system ? Your thoughts? thanks in advance

In my opinion, B&O is not worth it if you primarily listen to XM/Sirius.

Satellite radio is transmitted in very low def/quality. I just have the base Harmon Kardon system and can notice a huge difference between HD FM stations and satellite.

I listen to XM almost exclusively and am glad I didn't get B&O.

B & O is much better on CD's if you tune the EQ.

Hell to the No! The quality of XM is awful. I never realized it until I got the B&O.

I love my B&O stereo. I definitely agree that you need CDs or in my case higher res MP3s to appreciate it.

If u are serious about music get it
The m5 has a 6 disc changer but the car can rip to mp3 to the internal hard drive which i believe has 10/20 GB reserved for music, the rest for nav

B&O is my favorite option in my M5. The stereo is amazing and has excellent sound staging. It does take a little EQ tweak, but what system doesn't? I primarily listen to high resolution mp3s from my iPod and Apple lossless files on the iPod. If you love good sounding speakers, spring for it. Especially if it's a lease or you are going to own it for more than 3 years. I got the bang and olufsen in my wife's 2015 X5 also that we custom ordered. No issue with rattles, and I play it loud 😆

I have a subscription which I transferred over from my Audi and I should have simply asked for a refund. It sounds horrible on the B&O. I mainly listen to HD radio and it is superb.

Oh yeah HD Radio is awesome too! I forgot about that. I need to listen to it more. Plus it's free!

Is a trial subscription of Sirius included with new car purchase? Usually the service is already activated (If I recall most of my past cars), but my 2014 has never had service.

Just wondering if I can get 6 months (or is it 3? or 12?) of free service if I call to activate on my 2014.

That is pretty much all I listen to. I copy every CD to the car and listen to them that way. The quality of sound is excellent that way.

Wrs- longhorn grad here too! Anyway, I think when u copy the cd to the hard drive, doesn't it just turn it into mp3s anyway? Maybe it's better to listen off if original CDs for maximum sound quality? One reason I always download FLAC and ALAC files to listen too

I absolutely loved the B&O as I primarily listen to iPod via the USB and HD radio. That is until about 500 miles ago when I began been noticing a "rattle" from the speakers.

It sounds like it's coming from the rear...

Anyone get a fix from BMW as it seems I'm not the only one?

thats my concern....many B&O users are complaining of rattles from the speakers and bmw cant seem to fix the prob, the replacement of speakers notwithstanding...
