Hahaha! I actually might order BOTH and then stick with the one I REALLY want at the time. Remember, the 458 will be replaced by Ferrari n 2015. Not sure how long the spider still has. Huracan is just a cool little car that prob is outrageously fun to drive. I can get on the list for $5K and it's fully refundable so why not?

btw...Currently it's 12-10 for the Huracan on the poll!

I'm gonna create a new username so I can vote for the Huracan again.

Its very easy to vote when its not their own money

458.... you can have it for a year and walk away relatively unscathed vs the Lambo. It doesn't matter what Lambo it is. This reminds me a little of the McLaren MP4-12C car. When it first came out everyone was saying its the must have over the 458 but today all there is are used MP's. I know there are used 458's too but look at the values of sales even at the auction. And yes we all know the MP is the faster car. My money my choice = 458

Cold look at these MP pricings... you can steal one

Whoa... Stealth, think that response was a bit over the top, maybe?

At any rate, I live in Houston, and a very good friend owns a 2012 458 Italia, and I just took him to pick up his 2nd Ferrari this past Monday, a 2014 F12 Berlinetta; it is a car BTW, that is vastly more classy than either of the aforementioned two...

I've attended a number of Ferrari club gatherings with him. I find the crowd (at least as I've witnessed), to be pretty understated and classy. I realize that this is but a sample of the overall population.

My experience is the Lambos here in Houston are just as some have suggested one should be ordered, Lime Green or Dreamsicle Orange, or some crass facsimile... A mullet goes well with those color combos... Just sayin...

and now 458 is leading
the only one disadvantage like u mentioned already is that 458 is pretty old and going to be replaced, but according to spy pics, its not getting any dramatic change, sort of LCI, and most probably turbo engine, but a lot of enthusiasts will be willing to get hold of NA engine, once production ended

hurracan is new, 1st year production, you are likely to keep it in service bay for good couple of months and in the end of the day its just an audi... lambo never stopped my heart beat

ferrari defo has more class even though there are punks driving ferraris

Limited data samples.

I see mostly gray or black Lamborghinis. I see a lot of bright red Ferraris. Unlike you I don't draw any stereotypes about the drivers from that. However I do agree that there are some stereotypes out there - e.g. The people on bull run.

Wow that's a brutal ass kicking on resale. Plus 1 on the 458, looks and value when you move it.

The 458 has had exceptional economics for owners. I think this is driven by 2 things:
1) the 7 year complimentary maintenance plan which basically sustains the value of a new car given that maintenance costs on these cars are quite high,
2) tej decision to limit production and actually reduce production for 2013 and 2014.

They are actively managing depreciation whereas others are leaving it to the market, it's impressive when you consider that the Lamborghini is a more reliable and more competitively priced product (characteristics which normally earn better resale value).

430s were holding their value long before that though... Same with 2010s prior to implementation of the maintenance plan, and lets not forget they are paying for things like oil changes they aren't covering broken parts for 7 years / unlimited miles.

I know brother. The 458 is the smarter car to buy. I just see the Huracan as more of a novelty and it loo very fun to drive.

Yeah, you can pretty much steal a McClaren MP4 right now but honestly I wouldn't take one for $150K. I sat in one the other day and it is TINY. It's not very attractive inside either. I also saw the new 650s in person-no improvement in my opinion. Cheap and plasticy looking.

Ferrari 458 is my absolute favorite car on the road in terms of looks. They are not scarce. I can get one anytime. Question is, will they remain as financially smart when the turbo motor comes out (those who think that is not going to entice buyers are wrong-the new Cali is proving that already)? We can speculate all day that people will be dying to get their hands on the NA motor but that is pure speculation.

The bigger issue is that I am in ZERO hurry to get out of my TTS. I LOVE this car. Good chance I might be disappointed in the lesser performance of both of those cars. With that GIAC tune it will be a joke. Strategy would be to custom order now and then decide later if I REALLY want it. I get at least 9 mos. to decide on the 458 and 12+ on the Lambo. I can buy something before then, wait and actually buy the car I order or get my deposit back and do nothing at all. No reason not to do it. (I also could go ahead and just buy an Aventador but Ill need a couple of months to grow out my mullet-lol! You FOOLS!)

Wife and I headed to Lambo store now so she can look over those cars with me. She will end up saying Ferrari-lol! I like to include her. She is a car nut as well.

I take it back - shouldn't be stereotyping buyers of any particular car.

Except Prius drivers. I hate them.

Deposit placed-Huracan. Still doesn't rule out 458. Gives me options.

Is it also worth putting a deposit on the 458 replacement or is that invitation only at this stage.

I have and always will value your opinion on cars and their values, however one thing that maintains the very high valuation of Ferraris is ultra low miles at trade-in. This is why the majority of this cars are the very definition of 'garage queen' because even though owners of these wonderful cars are very wealthy, they don't want to take the depreciation hit when it's time to turn one over. Look at the respective values of a 'normal' ultra low mileage Ferrari, versus an example that has actually been driven; there's a very large variation. Truth is, there are very few examples of higher mileage used Ferraris to be found since so very few are actually driven. Which is a travesty since they are wonderful vehicles; (unless they are out of warranty, things start to break and you aren't dripping in money!! lol).

I agree 100% Bish, that's why I was a little surprised a the McLaren numbers with lower miles; 3 cars well under 2k in miles and pricing from 168 to 181k... now that's a drop in pricing.

F Cars never seem to have a lot of miles as you alluded to. Look at these 2010 458 milers... not much for a car almost 5 years old (miles) and values spread over 6 months still relatively stable.
