uh, I disagree with both ^ Shane and bossofbmw. The Merc 6.2 is dynamite. Ever heard an SLS in person? I had an '07 E63 and a '10 E63 before my M5 and stock for stock, the AMGs sounded much much better IMHO.
Also, I think the AMG 5.5L turbo sounds better than our S63Tu stock for stock. That being said, I have a Turner exhaust (basically a muffler delete) and I love it. Different than an NA car........ but I do like it very much. |

2013 M5
I currently own a 2013 M5 with 38,000 kms. The check engine light came on and started stalling at red lights. I took it to BMW service numerous times and they said that the intake was contaminated with oil and thats why the check engine light kept coming on. No explaination of why it was stalling. I took it back a few times and they said that my the compression on one bank was lower than the other. They still couldnt figure it out. They ended up replacing the engine which I thought would definately solve the problem.
It has been 2,800kms since engine replacement. When I have the car in N and rev the engine up to 3,500-4,000 rpms, and let go of the gas pedal, the RPMs go down to 500rpms and then back to idle rpm of 700-800. THis was happening with the old engine. I am afraid that the problem was not the engine itself. COuld it be one of the turbo is bad? My warranty has now expired, but would like this fixed. BMW service is telling me since there nothing is coming up on the computer so it's normal??? I have 2 friends with the same M5 and neither M5's do this. ANy help would be much appreciated. |

Hi Guys.
I am NEW to the forum.
Own a 2016 M5 Pure Metal Edition Used to have just prior to repair-605hp/701 Nm now 20-35hp less. Car came with CP.2 that is identical to the one in the 30 Jahre. Need HELP! After a Diff replacement my car now only makes 575-585hp. M1 mode and M2 mode have I identical power. Throttle response is quicker in M1 (sport plus) but identical power. M1 used to have 605-610hp. You will say: What is this Wanker talking about? I know it is a small difference BUT it bothers me very much. 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear are OK and little difference. BUT 4th,5th, and up there is significant decrease in Rev acceleration. Seems boost has been reduced. Have Puma Case =pending for 4 weeks with BMW NA. How could someone "reprogram " or "switch" the DME without anyone knowing? I just do not understand how BMW can sell A limited Edition Car than hand me back a stock CP power band?!?!?!?!? PLEASE HELP! |

leaking injectors caused catastrophic engine failure....
Only 34K miles, F10 comp edition, apparently leaking injectors caused a couple cylinders to seize and bent rods. BMW only offering me 25% off, 8 weeks expired out of warranty due to age. $30K with labor not including tax for a new motor. Ive found guy on ebay in Oklahoma who has the rebuilt S63TU motors for $9000.
Is their a more cost affective way to fix, cant new rods be installed, motor rebuilt? Or is engine replacement the only way? |

I'm looking for some help in regards to my 2006 BMW M6 I have an active code that says I have a steering wheel malfunction. I'm curious who I should reach out to. I was just recently quoted 4500 to replace the entire steering column. I'm looking to avoid a complete replacement.
Thanks for the advice in advance. |
