B&O interior rattles?
Overall I am very satisfied the my 2013 M5 that I've owned for about four months so far.
I used some of the well liked B&O settings from this forum to set up the eq and generally am happy. However, it appears that some of the speakers kind of rattle at some frequencies. Is this normal? The passenger tweeter did this a lot so I bought a new one, have yet to replace it. It doesn't sound like an interior rattle, more like the speaker can't handle the frequencies being thrown at it. And surprisingly this happens mostly with highs, not lows. Certain mid/high sounds cause this behavior. What is everybody's opinion of B&O overall? Maybe I listen to music too loud, I coded in the Volume level line and usually I listen to music at 70-85% of it's capacity. But I think that for the money Bang costs, it should work flawlessly. I suppose my main question is: Are some of my speakers worn/blown or is the padding/sound insulation insufficient in these cars? My car has 58k miles. Thanks in advance, just looking for some insight. |

Rattles usually happen on the lower frequencies but since your problem is with the higher frequencies, I'd suggest trying the same track from a different source. Often times people who stream bluetooth forget that their source has an equalizer setting on it, causing the system to operate within frequencies it's not built for. Once you've eliminated that easy solution, I'd try listening to the same track on repeat until I can finally get the equalizer settings to where it stops rattling. I know it's a painful process but you searched for a car with the B&O so may as well put in a little effort now for a lifetime of pleasurable listening.

I had a similar experience with my B&O system. I checked inside the doors panel and under the seats for loose change or debris but that didnt do the trick. Sure enough my passenger subwoofer was blown so i would hear loud rattles/crackles with loud music. I purchased the ghost subwoofers from bavauto, it sounds incredible.
