Drivetrain malfunction..car hardly running
Cruising home with cruise control on and I get error then the car actually dies.
I pull of and wait and restart and still have error and sounds lik misfiring. I limp a parking lot and after it has died a couple times. I had assumed it was just a bad cool or plug but when I turn it on not only is it rough and sound like misfire but I have strong fuel smell and a lot of white smoke. I really hope my engine isn't gone even if it's a bad turbo that's a lot better.. am I over concerned? Could it be something minor?? |

Sounds like fuel injector(s) and/or fuel pump(s). But pull the codes to see...

I'll post codes when I get home tonight, pulled intake and charge pipes no oil or abnormal residue. No pools of oil, and no shaft play.
I didn't have a socket thin or long enough to pull the plugs. |

That's a special plug socket, surprised me when I first had to pull my plugs. The Snap-on version of the proper socket costs $65, so I got mine from BurgerTuning.com for $19. Handy to have the magnetic feature to hold the plug in the socket too.

I had a drivetrain malfunction after I installed my stage 2. Pulled coded and it said misfire in cylinder 3. I bought the burger tuning spark plug tool and went to town changing my plugs. Coils looked good so I won’t replace them. Cars working good now. PM me if you have any questions. It’s good to be in the PNW!
