Anyone got advice for the fitting of these carbon fibre strips on handles?? I've done one handle but not happy with it, the ends seem pretty difficult not to crease and the very end doesn't want to stick down very well... : happy with the underside of the handle, but the top side needs to be cut very close to the paintwork which is worrying otherwise when you look down over the handle you can see tiny glimpses of chrome.... any tips would be appreciated

Get onto Ickdeep's (US) posts, he is good on doing this.I remember him doing these handles expertly but you'll have to look for it as he has quite a few posts.

Pop the chrome inserts out, wrap your CF around the chrome all the way to the underside, while applying heat to make certain no bubbles.

Here is how mine turned out: https://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1697175

I also CF wrapped my front and rear deflectors...search my posts for those pics.

Use a plastic "pry bar" to start one end and then slide another plastic pry bar along the top or bottom to help release.

I think our version of "autozone" is Halfords.... but as we are on lockdown and it's more than likely shut : the only option I have is the internet and good old Amazon prime.......

When the wind calms down a bit, great sunny weather here but a bit blowy,
My garage is tight fit with a classic car in there so have to remove them outside.

Not a fan of doing things by halves so bought original BMW black side grilles, not cheap but for me the only way to go, they are for the Edition 30 Jahre then I switched the small emblem over. I also bought the special tool to remove them, took about 30 seconds to get them out.

I attempted this about a month a go and failed, due to purchasing some poor wrap from ebay and maybe the process.

So, I wrapped mine last week, i used 3m Vinyl wrap. Cleaned the area properly, alcohol wiped and then loads of heat.

Side Grills:
I used the traditional method of masking the area and using pry bars - tbh not that difficult to do. Took the chrome off and wrapped them. I have never wrapped before so i think anyone can do it, it does take a little patience though.

Door handles:
I did not remove them - the method i used was the following:
1. Clean the area thoroughly including the little grooves (use a card wrapped in a microfibre cloth to get into the grooves)
2. apply and stretch the wrap
3. heat it
4. use the card to push in the wrap into the grooves spending more time around the corners (try not to push to hard and cut the wrap)
5. heat again and repeat the pressing into the grooves
6. Cut at a slight angle all the way round
7. Peel off

The process above took me 5-7mins per handle

They have been on for over a week and have i pressure washed over them, they havnt moved, so i am very pleased with the results.
