Thanks for this.... from the vids, the catted downs didnt seem too much louder than your stock vids. But I know the vids were done with diff conditions.

How is the power surge with the catted ones?

It's not night and day, but there is definitely a difference. The built-in microphone on my DSLR can really only capture that much.

For example, the "farts" now happen a lot more then pure stock. It is overall noticeably louder as well, as I said.. It "wakens" the car up. I have Active Sound coded out, and based on what I'm used to - there is a good overall difference in sound.

As for the power surge, I can't exactly describe it - but it's faster.

It definitely would wake up any exhaust... As I said, the built-in microphone could only pick up so much lol , you can hardly hear the turbo whine on the videos - but there is a noticeable turbo whine as well.

That's great. I know after speaking to your bud the other day he is very happy with his purchase. Yes the before and after video sounds similar but I think the after install is louder. I use my headphones for videos so perhaps I heard more sound.

If you leave the secondary cats in, you should be fine. I still have only DPs in my lil 135i, and it's stock smelling. lol

The M5/M6 does not have any secondary cats. Two cats in the down pipes and two resonators in the center section.

Any CEL light after a day or two? I am interested as long as it doesn't void the warranty.

No CEL for me still, I do have a drivetrain warning but that should be unrelated as I had this issue before the DP install as well.

I should know exactly what the cause is tomorrow when they let me know what codes come up at the dealership.

Be warned though, it seems like this may still void your drivetrain warranty (from what I've been told).

Service manager and warranty administrator at my local BMW dealership, I did get it installed at the dealer as well.

It does sound like a scenario where BMW NA would try to their best to not honor warranty though, and very unlikely would this happen.
