What concerns me is that the original flat torque tune was set at 500ft/lbs and now the new flat/torque V2 is pulling 600ft/lbs

That's a huge increase on stock clutches that are supposedly at risk over 550ft/lbs

My car made 683 tq on dyno with Openflash tune alone. Not sure where the 500ft/ibs is coming from to be honest.

I think our cars stock make more than 500 on dyno.

The original flat torque tune was lower because it made less power than the new v2 tune that will be released soon. Power power at peak hp RPM meant lower torque at that power level. So in order to keep the torque flat, torque had to be limited across the board. With power levels at or above 660whp, torque output must go up in order to keep the torque curve flat. And even at 600lb-ft, it feels very reasonable since our new boost controls strategy prevent spikes and any type of instability would would other induce short torque torque spikes. That said, holding 600lbft isn't a challenge for the DCT. The whole set-up seems to be very unstrained.

1) Are your v2 tunes customizable? Can I adjust the boost levels by gear to my liking? I'm still new to understanding OpenFlash, which is why I'm asking. Is there a way to switch between different maps while on the go? Or a person can only do it via flashing the ECU?

2) We in Middle East (Dubai) have premium 95-98 RON. I guess that should be perfectly fine for whatever tune the car has.

3) So basically the car below 5000 RPM is almost stock? Correct me if I miss something, but how is the torque around 600 lb.ft (approx 800 Nm) below 5000 RPM if the boost is stock.

4) I currently have catless VRSF downpipes, and am achieving (on stock ECU) an average of 16-18 psi already. I felt some power difference even though I don't have any tune at the moment. I am considering getting your v2 right when I have enough info about it!

One last question
-- Having 600 lb.ft of torque at about 2000 RPM would destroy your clutch am I right? Wouldn't it be better if you'd adjusted the torque levels to be under 550 lb.ft until 3500 RPM then blast it to 600+ above 3500 RPM?

Thanks once again for your time man!
Sorry, I didn't see this post until you pointed it out. Answers below:

1) At first we aren't going to let v2 tunes be customizable. If a customer wants some specific changes to things like cold start, gear based boost, burbles, etc, we will apply those changes for free. We just don't want our latest and greatest tunes to be improperly customized by the end user at this point. After some time the tunes will be customizable and customers can do what they want

2) 95-98RON is equivalent to our 91-93oct so that should pose no issue.

3) I think you may be reading the dyno graph incorrectly. At no point does our tune make the same power as the stock Competition calibration. Red and blue lines are our Stg1 v2 tune. Yellow and green lines are the stock Competition tune:
https://imageshack.com/a/img923/8639/Dbf0Qb.png

4) Your modified car will very much benefit from our. The difference will be far greater than what you felt adding your downpipes. In fact, few customers even both adding downpipes after experiencing the benefits of the tune alone on an otherwise stock car.

6) At a very stable and controlled 600lbft, we don't expect any issue with clutches. Of course, we can massage the torque curve any way the customer wants.

Cheers
Shiv

The Stage 1 tune on the OFT Website had 616bhp and 527ft/lbs

The dyno results on the website are pretty outdated Also, he was running a full torque tune which also made considerably more hp too!

Hi Shiv,

What do we need as existing V1.2 Open Tablet users to upgrade V2?

Nothing at all. Well maybe some patience until the rain here stops so we can actually road test our test cars

More dyno results to post tonight!

It doesn't matter when you order as you will receive a Stage 1 tune and then will be sent the V2 tune when it's available.

The OFT holds 5 tunes so you can have a stage 1 then just update the car with the new tune when it's sent to you.

You but the OFT and the software is then free including any updates.

Just found out open flash has been out since the early 80's. Happened to look up at tv and saw Michael Knight was using one on KIT!

I flash V1.2 the other day and was able to get a quick drive in yesterday. The process was easy (just read the instructions twice so you have a clear understanding) and I did lose my M settings that I have to reset. The difference a lot more than I expected. Car was already stupid fast, but now... I am looking forward to V2.

I noticed that there sometimes is a delay before power kicks in. It could be wheel spin as these MPSS suck when cold and the tire temps were around 68F. The other is a car felt jerky and I let off the gas in 3rd with the burbles. I hope there is no correlation there. I will probably do the non-burble 2.0 tune to compare. Like I said, I need a larger sample size to narrow down, but so far I like it.

I tried the burble tune twice then took it off for the same reason. Car is a lot smoother cruising without the burble tune/add on.

I think we are all extremely excited for V2 due to the Tq by gear so we can hopefully get a grip without running R888r tires and breaking stuff.
